~Deacon's Fucked up Cancer Thread~

Fuck cancer!

Praying that everything works out for you

Sending positive thoughts your way. Your positive attitude will help you through this. Hoping for the best possible outcome for you. 🙏🏻

I’ve had several colonoscopies done over the years due to a grandparent having had colon cancer. They’re never pleasant and always ruin two days of your week, but the whole bothersome procedure is worth it if for nothing else the peace of mind. Not to mention as in your case catching it while it’s still in a more treatable stage. My go-to for nausea is ginger ale; they also have a diet, sugar-free version. Cut with cranberry juice and it's really good for hydration and your kidneys. Hang in there and best of luck to you.

Positives....it was found early. It is treatable. It is just hair.

I believe in focusing on what is...and not what ifs. Positive vibes coming your way...

I just found this thread.

I’m glad that you’re doing everything that needs to be done. You will beat this.
Big hug. ❤️

So as many of you know, I went in for a colonoscopy due to some bleeding issues. They found four polyps, three were removed right then, but the fourth was a five centimeter mass that turned out to be cancer.

It's stage three, and before they will remove it, I'll be having radiation and chemo therapies at the same time, starting next week. It's five days a week for twenty-five visits, so five weeks. After that I get a recovery break, and then if things have gone well, what's left of it will be removed.

Most people don't go through this, but I always have to do it over the top, lol. This tumor is right where the rectum and the colon meet, so they need to save as much of the rectum as possible.

I'd guess this is an uncomfortable topic or subject for some, so I understand if you'd rather ignore me/it :) I will be sharing everything I deal with along the way, in the hopes that maybe just one of you that has put off a colonoscopy, goes and gets it done.

And just so everyone knows, this is not a pity party for me. I don't need any of that, because I'm not at risk of dying or anything like that, it will just be uncomfortable for a while. I do love and appreciate all the PMs with prayers and encouragement, and willingly accept more, because it's nice to know people care.

I will answer any and all questions about what I'm going through, and what I've learned, either here, or in a PM. I don't mind.

I really hope everything works out in your favor... maybe spend more time next to the microwave :)

And let's hope all you get is good news again!

Plus, it's good that you're staying on top of it. I know I will from here on out.

Hope you get to feeling better soon! You'll be in my prayers during your treatments.

I looked at my surgery as simple hose repair...like when we kids with a blown radiator hose. It kept me positive. Harder on the wife and kids than me. Fuck Cancer!
