I start fasting today at around 10am for my scans tomorrow. Still a bit nervous about it, but I'm hoping I get good news.
So anyway, nothing new to report as far as the treatment, other than the fatigue. They said it would get worse, and I guess I didn't know what really bad was, lol. Now I'm starting to, lol.
Peace to all,
DV

Just a quick update.
So my first scans came out crappy due to a bad calibration or some shit. I redid them yesterday, and I got a chance to talk with my kidney doctor. (Oh, I get the new results on Thursday) But my newest labs showed my kidney function as 22.5% which is huge news. That technically takes me out of stage four kidney failure.
So we're putting off the vascular surgeon for my fistula, because insurance wont pay for it on anything above 18% function. So, instead of the chemo killing my kidneys, I'm doing fine
Things I changed were, losing weight, eliminating half my protein intake, and targeting my blood glucose at 100 instead of anything below 150. It requires more monitoring, which mean I have to pay cash for extra test strips, but its proven to be worth it.
My white blood cell count is even up, so I'm a happy camper. Seven treatments down, five to go. Now lets just hope its working![]()

This is great news!
Those changes really made a difference! What is your protein intake?

I actually dont keep track of the numbers, I just halved all the things with protien in them, like steak, hamburger, chicken, milk, eggs, things like that. I eat more green beans, onions, salad, tomatoes, pears, strawberries, things like that.
My last A1c test was 6.3, down from 8.3 six weeks ago, so I'm on the right track (plus, I lost 14 pounds in two weeks)
