Do you ever feel real emotions for someone you've met on here?

Yes I have, and it’s frustrating as hell that we’ll probably never get to meet !

So far, I haven't kick myself for it. I've met some great people that I'm so happy to have them in my life, albeit not in flesh. But give it time. I'm still "new" and might just happen, sooner or later. :D
C'est la vie. ;)

Yes. I've wept and craved and kicked myself for it.
The mind is a beautiful place to be, when you encounter one that's worth exploring.

I’ve had an emotional fling or two. They never work out long term though

Guess I've been here many times over the years and it's never happened, I've chatted with 2 rather seriously and was sad when it ended, so perhaps it was there were feelings. Wish I could reconnect with them. Or find a new connection, it's so exciting to meet and connect with someone here.

Just one, she was so much fun and we had a very regular thing for a couple of years. Never shared the things we discussed with any other person, felt very comfortable with her. Sadly she is no longer on here.

Yes, if you're sad when someone is no longer around, you had some sort of feelings for them. Emotional connections have many different levels.

Kinda hard not to, isn't it?

Exactly :)

We're human beings, so nearly every interaction we have involves some sort of emotion.

Exactly...no matter how many walls I put up I find myself drawn in.

Same. It happens over and over. 🤷*♀️
Given up trying to stop it and now I just go with it, life is short.

I figure if you're spending all your time trying to fight it, well, you still end up kind of miserable, but without any of the good stuff. At least if you just go with it, there's some good stuff mixed in with the more difficult stuff.

To badly paraphrase a well-known sentiment for purposes of the thread, it's better to have real emotions and deal with the consequences, than to have never felt a thing at all.

That’s kind of where I’m at. I’m trying to learn to live in the moment.

It can be difficult.Every relationship ends eventually, somehow, so it's just deciding if the person you're becoming attached to is someone you want to spend time with, whether it turns out to be a short time or a longer one.

That said, do take sensible precautions, always, about how much and when you trust someone with certain bits of information about yourself. Time is your friend when it comes to really knowing someone. Good luck to you. :)

Exactly, I also like to consider the other person in it all. They have feelings to. Who am I to try and stop feelings on both sides? Let it take it's natural course. You never know where things will lead, good or bad its a experience.

I’m trying to do that too!
Good luck girl, we are probably both going to need it lol
I'll have the double chocolate, chocolate chip ice cream on standby 😂

You are so incredibly kind and thoughtful!

Sweet! I’ll start saving shows to binge watch 😉

Oh, it certainly is!

Oh, thank you. I've just been gone through a bunch of stuff over a bunch of years (not just here hehe), and feel like I've made some sense of it, to the degree that one can. Goodness knows, I still get surprised by things, and myself, sometimes. :)
