Is this an appealing concept to many? I'm not speaking of the kind of tease that goes on for a few minutes before the subject is allowed grateful release.

As someone who really likes this, I've thought about this a good bit,. Yes, it's obviously appealing. Yes, there's a power dynamic involved. It does, however, depend on the skills of the top. Hours are different than days, and days take a skill that not everyone (top or bottom) has.

I will say that for me, the ideal is not hours and hours at a time, it's pockets of denial and teasing here and there capped off with a more specific session of denial or service than lots and lots of teasing over time. I say this because it's more realistic in my primary relationship to have snippets of time during which to do that (say, before work), and then to schedule time together to have a longer session. Ideally combined with laundry day!

My limit is 3 days or so, because longer than that and I just get cranky and not hornier.

I've also done this in more switchy relationships, though ultimately it's still subby enough for me at the end when someone gives you a face full of cum!

Time is an issue. Kind of the fantasy reality thing.

Self edging / denial can give one extra focus, like if your writing a story and get roused while doing so resisting the temptation to release that tension allows one to put more energy into the writing that caused it.

With a purpose it is very enjoyable. I find it more enjoyable when doing it for someone, rather than just on my own. However, it does help provide self-control by breaking the impulse desire to get to completion quickly.

Being able to prove to another just how long and have that person push the limits is exhilarating. Not to mention orgasm-denial.
