Here's the scoop: The day of the race (Saturday) is the day I'm flying back from Florida. Changing my flight would cost about $40 extra (I've checked). I'd fly to Raleigh/Durham on Friday, which is MUCH cheaper than Charlotte, and leave Sunday. Rental car for the weekend is about $50. Hotel room for 2 nights is about the same as 1 night in Disney, so that would even out. Altogether, I'd be spending about $100, not including spending money.

The Litogether would cost me about $350-450, so October is much cheaper. But I'll have to wait and see.

Agreed. I missed your original post DD but my sympathies go out to you. Life is hard sometimes and I wish we didn't have to deal with it but we do.

It's that time of year. I'm in full, getting-ready-for-school mode.


I went in today and set up the furniture in my classroom. Tomorrow is a trip to the free teacher store and then a couple of hours unpacking my room.

If i forget to come up for air, someone send out a really cute lifeguard to save me, please.

oh.... that would require some pondering as the list of things I WOULD do is fairly long, things I'm merely willing to do would be the shorter of the two lists.

i also had to repair the shelf that mysteriously broke after it had been put back in my room


everything is unpacked except for the dishes and playfood in the housekeeping corner


tomorrow will be putting things up on the walls and getting the room ready for day 1 of school..... then i'll start getting all the paperwork and me ready for day one

If its going to be quid pro quo, you can pick but I get to adjust my rates.... oh and don't worry about running out of lit bucks, we can work on a services barter system if need be.

Well, my hat's off to you. I really wish they had handymen for that kind of thing but when its your space I suppose its better to do it yourself than trust the competency of local government to make it right.
