It's that time of year. I'm in full, getting-ready-for-school mode.


I went in today and set up the furniture in my classroom. Tomorrow is a trip to the free teacher store and then a couple of hours unpacking my room.

I thought it might be of interest to many of you that there’s a new BDSM based group in the Western North Carolina area.

Yep, already.

Tuesday is the first official day for teachers, but i always go in the week before to try and get my room set up. I had my appointment at the free Teacher Store this morning (it's run by the Atlanta Food Bank for teachers in low income schools).


They're trying to get the teachers to agree to a "balanced schedule" for next year which would mean we'd go back the end of July and the kids would start the first of August with more week long breaks during the year. I'm definitely not looking forward to that.

Well mine doesn't start till Sept. 7th. He still has 1 1/2 books to read.... and about 20 pages of math. Some summer huh?...

Actually our particpants are a pretty diverse group who just gather to have a good time. With that said it tends to be a pretty risque time and what folks do in private is their own business.

RALEIGH, N.C. - A bank robber who hit in Durham this week is suspected in nine other robberies around North Carolina this year and the FBI says the robber may be getting more confident.

The robber has hit banks in Monroe, Greensboro, Chapel Hill, Raleigh, Wilson, Wilmington and other areas, according to the FBI.

"We have serial bank robbers from time to time that cause us a lot of concern," said Frank Perry, who leads the FBI's Raleigh field office.

Investigators say the man is armed with a black semiautomatic handgun.
In the latest robbery, the man entered RBC Bank in Durham about 9:40 a.m. Thursday, went behind the counter and robbed the safe and three cash drawers, said Greg Coats, a Durham police officer assigned to the FBI's violent crimes task force.

The bandit brandished his gun and said, "Don't make me use this," according to a statement released by the Durham Police Department.

Coats said that in past robberies, the man never walked behind the counter nor spent so much time inside. Durham police arrived within three minutes and just missed him, Coats said.

Tracking dogs followed a scent to the parking lot of an abandoned school behind the bank. The scent trail ended at a pair of tire tracks in the mud, he said.

Perry said that after a robbery June 21 at a Central Carolina Bank in Wilmington, the same man got in his car, inspected his loot and then angrily returned to the bank with his gun drawn.

Bank employees had locked the doors behind him and he could not enter, Perry said.
On several occasions, Perry said, the holdup man has told bank clerks he was desperate.
The man is thought to use several disguises involving different hats, sunglasses, facial hair, and patches and bandages over parts of his face.
