Favorite Movie Scenes

Man! I was just thinking about how much I love Shaun of the Dead! That movie is so hilarious. I honestly don't know what I think is the best part...it is all so good. I love when he tries to convince his mom that his stepdad used to touch him so she'll go away with them, lol. And when Ed farts and all he says is "I'm sorry Shaun." LOL...omg, I have to see that again.

Woohoo!, I never thought I'd find an American that likes SOTD, the humour is just too British for most...

How about the scene in the pub, when they are talking about all the other drinkers, making up ever wilder stories about their lives... :D

Mark.... yep that race was awesome.... loved it!! I also like the bit where they storm the shop and order two packs of tropical fruit bubbleicious!! lol :D

Shaun of the Dead!!! Love you even more now foof... if that were possible. I didn't think that film's humour would cross the Atlandtic very well. I'm really pleased you like it. One of my favourites..... the best bit for me is where they are deciding which vinyl to throw at the zombies..... michael jackson? yep... lol :D

Another favourite scene of mine is the end of The Killing Fields where Sam Waterson's character and Dith Pran finally reunite after the latter's incarceration in Cambodia. That gets me every time too... especially because it happened for real. It's even sadder because the actor (Hang S Nor) went through it himself and he was cruelly murdered on his doorstep a few years ago. :(

And for sheer terror, the scene in The Shining (another favourite of mine) where Shelly Duval finds Jack's script, only to find he's written "All work and no play make Jack a dull boy" over and over and over again.

More to follow I'm sure. :)

I'd forgot about the fruit bubbliscious bit, that was real funny too.

Oh yes, the vinyl throwing, going through Shaun's record collection looking for ammunition....

I've thoughr of another, the pub scene where they are fighting with the zombiefied landlord, beating him with pool cues, all in time to that Queen song... absolutely priceless.... :D

Mark.. you sound like the sort of guy it'd be fun to go for a pint with. :)

Another scene I love is in Terminator where Arnie is in the disco and Linda Hamilton is unaware... apart from the fact that the fashion has dated badly, it's a very tense scene... as is the one where he's searching for them in the parking lot.

My wife and I saw that film at the cinema when we were dating and were the only two people in the cinema... which added to the tension.... :D

Thank you so much everyone! Keep them coming!

Here's another one I thought of out of the blue yesterday. It is so silly and dated, but I have always loved Ruthless People, and Danny DeVito in that movie makes me almost wet myself laughing every damn time I see it! The best is when he answers the phone in front of the rookie cop, and it looks like he's having a normal conversation. "Debbie? You wanna talk to Debbie? Who is this? ...Ralph? Sorry Ralph, Debbie can't come to the phone right now, my dick's in her mouth." *hangs up and looks at the cop* "I love wrong numbers!"

OMG!! I was just going to say, "How about the choreographed fight scene to Queen?" That kills me!

Mornin', all.

The first one that comes to mind for me is one of the closing scenes in Dogma when Alanis Morissette beeps Linda Fiorentino's nose and does her hand stand.

I'm sure I'll think of more as I have time.

Cheers bear, I've been known to sink the odd pint...... :D

Arnie always used to be the king of throwaway lines in his films, one springs to mind is from Commando, he throws this huge hunting knife into this bad guy that was creeping up behind Arnie, as he turns and sees the guy impaled onto the tree he says "stick around" in that excellent clipped accent.

Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves has a couple of stand out scenes too, both having killer lines from Alan Rickman as the Sheriff of Nottingham, the first he is talking to his bumbling cousin Guy of Gisbourne, "when I get hold of him I'm going to cut his heart out with a blunt spoon", Guy asks why not a sharp knife of some description, the Sheriff replies "cos it will hurt more!". Then after in the film after yet another daring robbery by Robin he tells his gopher to "cancel Kitchen scraps for the Lepers, and call off Christmas!!!"

Absolute class.

Monty Python...

Five words...'it's just a flesh wound.'

So many hilarious moments in Monty Python and the holy grail

LOL, how about "You, my room, 10:30. And You, 10:45...and bring a friend."

One is in Dangerous Liasons,,the scene in the gardens when De-Valmont is talking to Madaeme Tourvel. The camera work was great, snapping back and forth(I think think to suggest sexual tension)
This movie has come in and out of my life a few times>>LOL

The end of Sleepless in Seatle! The reason being as they say art imitates life.
About the time the movie came out,I met my love at LIT chat and we decided to meet (OMG) face to face. Things seemed kind of like dejavu! She lived in Manhattan and the only time I could take for vacation was the week of valentine.

what a sweet story.Thank you for sharing it. :)

I love the movie Closer, and my jaw drops every time I see the breakup scene between Julia and Clive, the language...so graphic, yet way more realistic than a lot of films. I also love the strip club scene, but that's just because I love to hear Clive talk dirty!:D

I also love the movie Secretary! Soooo many scenes to pick from that one. I always laugh during her masturbation scene, and she is repeating what Mr. Grey told her to eat for dinner. "Four peas!" LOL, priceless! And I go crazy every time it gets to the scene where he stands behind her and strokes, cumming on her back. OMG, so hottt!!!!

Yes... I have that, and have yet to see it. I've been ordered to watch it pronto, so I'd better jump. :D

Tell me about it! As much as I love movies, I don't tend to watch and re-watch once I own it. I will do that if I see it on cable, shit, I can watch something 30 times if it's on, when it's sitting right on my shelf and I can watch it any time. But Secretary...that is one of the few that I will take out and watch all the time....just so priceless!

I thought of another one...

Mystery, Alaska --

Mayor Pitcher (Colm Meaney) is talking with Donna Biebe (Mary McCormack) about the rink being built for the game against the Rangers.

Pitcher mentions a few things, and finishes with "and we're getting a ZAMBONI!"

Donna, without missing a beat, says "Ooh, I'm getting wet just thinking about it..."

Pitcher thinks about it for a second, then walks off, disgusted.

I love Donna's wry smile as he's walking away. :D
