HumanKind.. Be Both

I wanted to share something from my vacation. A very elderly gentleman sat at the boardwalk to the beach. He spoke of how he and his son used to enjoy the beach and the water. You could see sadness in his eyes when he said he knew his feet would never make it down the beach to the waters again. Two young gentlemen sitting nearby also heard his conversation and offered to help him. At first he was reluctant. He finally agreed and they cradled him in their arms gently down to the waters edge. He only went in about ankle deep but the look on his face. Priceless. Many of us joined him in the water and we frolicked like old friends. Strangers connected by a love for the sea. The two men humbly accepted his thanks. And just as gently they helped him back to the boardwalk. Renewed my faith in humanity. That good kind folks still exhist . I won't ever forget his smiles. And watching the sea spray splash him. It was beautiful.

Sometimes people do show compassion and empathy. We only have to look for it instead of seeing just the hate and anger.

I've been really limited on what I can do the past few months since life has been injury, surgery, recovery....
BUT

I love it. I love that you were able to take the love that would have been shared in one spot to another. It's an unexpected blessing.

And just as gently they helped him back to the boardwalk. Renewed my faith in humanity. That good kind folks still exhist . I won't ever forget his smiles. And watching the sea spray splash him. It was beautiful.

This was a great story T4T.. filled with humanity. Thank you!

So, if I'm walking into the building, and I see a young lady trailing a good distance behind and I wait to hold the door open for her then that is kindness right? What if she has an amazing ass, and I wanted to get a better view? Still kind, right?

Something I read today reminded me of human kindness. And courage.

" Land of the free. Because of the brave "

I'm not really a fan of those snarky nurse memes that make fun of patients and doctors. I don't think they set us in the best professional light. That being said, this one made me chuckle..

I'm going to a memorial today where my friend has invited us to celebrate the lives of her parents who have passed away over the past couple of years. They were the sweetest couple and, in many ways, replaced my own parents who had died much earlier. They often used to say about our country, "if we don't exist as a country to help people, then why bother?"
And they meant it in the most sincere sense.
They loved bravery and hated war.
They celebrated humanity with joy and mourned with passionate sorrow.
They stood firm in the belief that, where there is a will to do the right thing, there is a way to get it done.. regardless the challenges that others place in our path.
So, as I gather with loved ones to celebrate freedom, I am grateful to those who do not think of it is something that others have bestowed upon us. I am grateful for those who cherish it as a standard that we maintain for one another.

I love thy rocks and rills
They woods and templed hills..

May your weekend be safe. :rose:
