I’m so old I remember…

I’m so old I remember the Test Card coming on after Prisoner Cell Block H, when 20p could buy you a Mars Bar and still leave you change, and Ceefax

I'm so old I remember dressing up for a trip on an airplane...suits and ties for the men, dresses & hats for the ladies.

I remember flying in airliners with piston engines and propellors.

Cars with big, heavy chrome bumpers...that's what you hooked the jack to when it was time to change a tire, and that's what you clamped the rented hitch to when you rented a trailer.

Programming a PDP 11/70 with toggles.
Swapping out the hard drive on the PDP 11...it was like two feet across and lived in a huge drawer. RSTS/E was the shit!

The "word processor" was a line editor...there was no automatic pagination. What a thrill when we got an upgrade that had the "gold" key!

Im so old I remember electric typewriters.
When I took typing in high school on the IBM Selectric II it was like jumping into the space age. I learned to type on my dad's manual Royal. No auto-correct. Remember those odd round erasers with the brush attached for correcting typing errors?
