Well most people our age where introduced to it improperly. The orginal purpose a satire of the failing US family. However when it i came here as a cartoon it was shown far too early. Then the tie-ins - big mac meal, slippers etc. Then people relised the content but much to late as it had absorbed into local psykie.

Also Bart and Homer ruled.
