Hey all....
well, hubby and i left a wet lexington tuesday at noon headed for nebraska... hit the blizzard of the midwest head on... blinding driving conditions... tried to stop but there were no vacancies so we muddled thru on icy roads at 20 miles an hour and turned a 12 hour trip into a 16 hour trip... but had fun really!!! got to his parents house and i climbed out of the jeep and sank into snow over my knees. I LOVE THIS !!!! Kentucky never gets anything fun like this

Thanks, but I think I'll need a bit more. Like a dose of home, almost time to go home to Tennessee. I'll be back though. Only get a tiny break here anyway.

That's ok, I am headed home for Christmas. Going down to "the Big Easy". It is funny, I have lived up in Kentucky for 18 years and I still call Louisiana home. If I did not have a great job, with wonderful people...hmmm wonder if I would still be up here.
Today was nice. Looks like the rest of the week gets worse and worse.
My buddy wants to do some outside stuff this coming weekend. He seems to think the weather predictions are all bunk...freezing or so and snow both days...so I'm not holding my breath that we do this stuff.

Once had a prof make the mistake of informing a bunch of us of the fact that we didn't need to actually take the exam to get a better grade. He seemed surprised that only the 1/3 or so who needed the exam to get a better grade showed up.
Hey all, how's Kentucky treating you? Cold but enjoying the lack of snow. Also getting used to the ways of Kentucky. Liquor Barn and the disuse of turn signals, etc.

Thanks everyone! We are always careful on the road! (to watch for troopers so we don't get speeding tickets)... eyeball.. i promise to try never to share my snow with you... skirt.. we had a blast, even tho the snow was up over my knees... we did manage to get to Husker Hounds TWICE (not that we could afford it)...
we left KY at nine am on wed and should have been back in lexvegas before midnight. but at the last minute, decided to change routes home to visit some friends from online. and ended up rolling into lex about 3 am.. thank goodness for 24 hour kroger, or my fridge would be empty. !! glad to be home but TOO wired to fall asleep..

Glad to hear you had a safe trip and some fun in the snow too. Great that you made it to Husker Hounds a couple of times. Always sooo much good Husker stuff there!!! Did you ever get down to the Old Market/downtown area to check out the Christmas lights? I sure did with relatives that were in from out of town.

naah, we didn't get downtown and i really wanted to.
and i've been sick since i got home
and christmas snuck up on me too.. so unprepared!!

I can understand that. Have a great time at home. We all wish for home at this time of year, so I too will be headed home this year. I will return to Kentucky as it is where I live, but still don't consider it home after 20 years.

I grew up outside of New Orleans. I hope I will get to visit more in the new year, but one never knows. I accept that I have a great job and my kids live up here (they live with their father). All they remember is Kentucky as home, so to them it is home, but for me Louisiana is home but Kentucky is where I live.
