Kentucky Roll Call

I live right next to Lake Barkley. Like 2-3 miles from the lake.

I love to go to the lakes. Reminds me of where I grew up, in New Orleans. Whenever I travel through that area I take the time to go sit by the lakes for about an hour, just looking out over the water, enjoying the serenity and taking in the beauty.

I will be down to that area in a couple of weeks for a softball tournament for my kids. I may just have to go down there Friday night so I do not have to get up before the crack of dawn for the drive.

Not as likely to see bikinis an speedos bouncing around on them...but deer, geese and eagles are pretty cool too. ;~)

My boys compete with Special Olympics and love it when we get to travel all over the state for competitions. Each Sport they compete in we get to visit different areas, of course it also depends on if it is regional competition or state competition. Paducah will be Regional, but the facility does a GREAT job, with all the teams and keeping things going whether it is the first game of the day or the last.

You said you may come down early. Is that easier with boys than just driving straight down and showing up, cause I know my brothers and I were a nightmare my parents when we traveled. ;~0

Because we have 4-5 local teams they take a bus early Saturday morning, leaving here about 5:30 am. Makes for a long day, as I will not ride the bus, but drive down. I like to try and go down the night before and get a room, that way I can sleep later and the boys enjoy the night away from the house.

LOL...yep. Anything to avoid and early morning is my motto. And I don't blame you on the bus thing, although the kids may actually enjoy it...just cause they're kids. I wouldn't ride the dang thing either.

We use to drive my parents crazy when we were kids. Trips were always one long cluster. A two day trip would take them a week to get over. ;~)

I agree. We need to take Virginia off the map and move the beach inland. Can we do that? Get some big bulldozers and go to it?
