A timely question in the week I turn 64!
My background and my wife's too led us to give oodles of attention to the romance and that has paid off so wonderfully for us. The level of experimentation which we went for in our younger years was much more than that of our married friends I think, but in the world of Lit and in the 21st century my experience is I guess pretty tame really.
That said, we're both really happy that we've had some more experimentation in recent years which has enhanced our sexual satisfaction and joy. Call us slow learners, but it's a load of fun!

Can someone explain what they understand by 'sexual romance'? Is it different to just ordinary romance? Is a box of chocolates or a candlelight dinner sexually romantic? Or only if you lick the chocolates off each other and fuck on the dinner table?

I took it to mean mean making love instead of just fucking. That kind of sex that begins with feelings of closeness and intimacy. Where shared looks over dinner (candlelight or just kitchen table with the mail piled on the corner), turn into cuddling while watching television, and kissing gives way to roaming hands. Where your bodies melt together as your souls soar, knowing that no one else could really share this moment with you.

Hmmm. I am going with sexual romance. Partly because I'm somewhat *cough* a lot *cough* on the conservative side when it comes to sexual experimentation. (I am sure that surprises no one at this point.
)And partly because I've come to realize that (for me) the right chemistry, the right partner, the right dynamic, is far more important, actually crucial, to my sexual engagement than the particular variations on the act.
......................That's not to say I wouldn't be interested in a little more, ummm...experience in a couple of areas.
