After hearing what Kai said and having bandaged my hand up with some cloth I asked him "So do you think she can be trusted?" Looking back at Kaltreka I can tell she doesnt like me. What is it about me that women hate? Oh yeah...

OOC: My suggestion about an AC thread was more spontaneous than serious. Don't pay too much attention to it. After thinking about it for a while, I don't think it would work too well.

IC: "It's obvious that she knows at least a little about me, and I think she's afraid of me. As for you, I wouldn't get too close to her if I were you," Kai advised Stanley. He added, "I think that she can be trusted, as long as someone keeps an eye on her, at least for now. It might be best if I do that because I'm not sure how she'll behave with anyone else watching her."

OOC: Hey you never know. It might work but then again you could be right.

IC: Sighing to myself I say "Well I'll leave this up to you and Xev for now. I need to get back to piloting the ship. See if we can find some planet to land on and explore or something." Walking away from the others, I head back to the bridge.

Once there I sit back and ask Lexx "How far are we to the next planet Lexx?"

He explained "It will be awhile but there should be one coming up sooner then we originaly thought stan."

Sitting in the chair I begin to scratch my hand that she had bitten. For some reason it felt... different. I begin to wonder if I was infected by something when she had bitten me...

I had watched all that had taken place, unsure of what to say or do. Kai seemed to have the situation under control, but then there was really no telling. "Do you need me to stay too? Judging by the look on her face, she doesn't seem to like me either." Kai shook his head, so I picked up 790 and went to find Stanley.

I found him on the bridge, staring at the bite wound Kaltreka had given him. I started to tell him that he really should clean that well, when I noticed he was scratching at the wound and his hand looked funny. "Stanley, are you alright? What did that girl do to you?"

Kai approached Kaltreka.

"Oh, damn!" Kai cursed to himself. "I forgot, I do need Xev and Seven-Ninety eventually, but I guess that can wait for now." He then faced Kalteka. "Just how much do you know about me?" he asked her.

Turning to Xev and 790 I tell them "I dont know but my hand realy feels weird. It doesn't hurt but my hand just feels like there is something running through it."

I noticed that the feeling had spread from my hand to my arm and it seemed to be spreading faster then before with each minute. Turning to Lexx I ask "Lexx you know Kalteka, do you know if her biting me to the point that her teeth penetrate my skin could do anything to me?"

Lexx answered "Not that I know of Stan but then again I dont know much on her species." Oh great so there was no telling what I had.

Turning to Xev I tell her "I need to check with Lexx over this thing so I need you and 790 to keep an eye on Kai since you two are the only ones not infected in anyway by this Kalteka. Is that ok?"

I nodded at Stanley's request. I still wasn't sure what was going on, but now I was feeling uneasy. And I thought I had heard Lexx say there was a planet coming up soon. Just once, I would really like some answers.

Walking back into the room were Kai and Kaltreka were, I told Kai, "Something's not right with Stanley's hand. He's says it feels like something is moving in it. Ask her if she knows anything, please. Stanley may be a pain in the butt, but I don't want anything to happen to him."

I sat down against the wall and placed 790 on the floor. "Stanley also said to stay here with you, since we are the only ones not affected by Kaltreka."

Once I was in the room by myself with Lexx I tell it "Ok Lexx, close up all of the doors to this room and I want your voice to only be heard by those inside of this room. I don't want the others to hear what you say."

The doors closed and Lexx assured me "As you command Stan. You are the only one that can hear my voice."

Now I wouldnt have to worry about the others hearing me "Ok Lexx, I need some X-ray scans off my arm and all of that other medical junk to find out whats wrong with me."

Lexx told me "Stand in the middle of the room and allow me to scan your body Stan." Doing as I was told, I stood still as a blue light from the ceiling covered my body for a few moments then stopped.

After a few minutes of Lexx going through the data his scan had picked up I asked "So what did she do to me with that bite?"

Lexx corrected "It is not the bite itself that is affecting you Stanley. You are infected with a parasite."

My eyes widened "W-What do you mean I'm infected with a parasite?"

Lexx explained the whole thing "When Kaltreka had bitten you her bite had nothing to do with your current infection. However when your hand was opened from the bite a tiny insect was able to crawl up into your skin. That is what is affecting you."

Looking at my hand I asked him "First tell me what type of insect this is then what it will do to me."

Lexx informed me "The insect is an unknown species to most but my database is aware of it. It has no name but it's symptoms are known. It will soon cause your body to transform then it will die. To what your body will change into I do not know but on the bright side it is not lethal to you."

Sweat dripped down my face "Is there a cure?"

Lexx told me "No. But that is not important as the changes are not permanent. Your body will change back in time after it transforms fully. How long that will take is not known."

I started to sigh with relief but then remembered the others "Lexx, will I be dangerous to the others while in this new body?"

Lexx hesitated then answered "That is not known... but it is most likely from what we know. But there is the off chance that you will not be."

Sitting down in my chair, the thoughts rushed through my head of what harm I could do to the only people I could call my friends...

Just as Kai finished asking Kaltreka what she knew about him, Xev came back and explained the problem with Stanley's hand.

"I don't want anything to happen to him too, or you, for that matter," Kai offered. He smiled. "By the way, Xev, I need you and Seven-Ninety to help me give a medical examination to Kaltreka, that is, if she consents, of course. I don't want anything to happen to her, either." Kai turned towards Kaltreka. "I hope I don't offend you," he said, "but would you mind if we check you to see if you are sick or if there is anything similar that is wrong with your body?" That hadn't come out quite like Kai had hoped: from first glance, there seemed to be *nothing* wrong with her body!

(what you said got me thinking, Primordial... AC thread? I, of all people, could pull it off...)

And hey! did you see that one episode of Daria where Trent is singing his Disembodied Body song? kinda reminds me of 7-90...

ANYWAY....

I glared at the robot head and resisted the urge to tear it out of her hands and drop kick it. I HATED those mechanical bodiless creatures...

I looked fearfully at Kai. "I... I suppose you could." I was terrified - the last time I'd had a body inspection had been the worst experience of my life, but I didn't want him to force me... I'd had enough of that.

I allowed myself to be pulled away as Xev took the head back to talk to Stan. I followed along like a slave as Kai dragged me towards the med lab...

Following Kai and Kaltreka to the medical bay, I explained to 790 he was going to be cooperative or I would give him to Stanley. "Now behave, you understand?"

"Oh yes, my love, mu beautiful vision of perfection. Anything you ask and I mean anything," 790 growled.

I hadn't known that the one girl would be accompanying me... I suddenly stopped, remembering...

Kaltreka halted in her tracks. Kai turned to look at her. She appeared nervous and confused, and her eyes kept flashing over to Xev.

Kai let out a small smile, realizing the source of her apprehension. "It's all right, Kaltreka. I need the robot head, Seven-Ninety, to aid me in your examination. I also need this woman, Xev, because she is the only one to whom the robot head will listen."

Kaltreka still appeared hesitant....

Looking at myself in the mirror in my room, I begin to notice that I do still look 100% human but still I could feel the insect having it's effect on me.

Not very sure on what to do, I order Lexx "Lexx, now listen to me, I want you to seal off my room and not allow me to exit it under any circumstances untill the changes to my body end and I become human again. Do you understand?"

Lexx complied "I understand, Stan." The entire room shut closed to keep me inside as I sat still in the room. The change was beginning...

I choked back a sob and kept walking, forcing my feet to keep moving.

We walked into the med lab, and as Kai turned to me and asked me to undress, I bit a tiny hole in my lip. Enough to bleed, enough to hurt like hell. Nevertheless, I reached down to remove my boots...

Kaltreka removed her clothing and stepped up onto a cryochamber. Kai wheeled the examination processor up to the chamber.

"Now, Seven-Ninety, what do I do?" Kai inquired.

Seven-Ninety sighed. "You see those pads on the table there? Place two symetrically on her chest, one on her wrist, and one on her abdomen, above the navel," he instructed.

Kai obeyed. When he gathered up the pads and looked at Kaltreka's body, there was an immediate reaction between his legs. He placed the pads on the places Seven-Ninety told him. "Like this?" he asked after he had finished.

"The two on her chest: move them closer together," Seven-Ninety informed. Kai moved the two pads closer to Kaltreka's rib column, then stepped back and raised his eyebrows at Seven-Ninety. "Yes, good," he confirmed. "Now, just hit that button there next to me."

Kai pressed the button Seven-Ninety indicated. The machine in the table started and churned away for a few minutes. Then it shut off.

"She's fine," Seven-Ninety said after communicating with the machine, retrieving the relevant data, and scanning Kaltreka himself. "Nothing wrong with her except a gash in her lower lip and an elevated pulse."

"A gash?" Kai hadn't noticed one before. He walked to the side of the cryochamber to look more closely. As he did so, he lightly touched Kaltreka's arm. Her skin was so soft... yet she was biting her lip, her eyes were shut tight, and her entire body was so tightened that it resembled a clenched fist.

Kaltreka jumped at Kai's touch. She sucked in air; she had been holding her breath for most of the ordeal. When she opened her mouth, Kai noticed that her lip was indeed bloody, as was her teeth with which she bit it. "Oh, no," he thought, "she's terrified! What had His Shadow done to this poor woman?"

"It's all right now; it's over," Kai reassured Kaltreka. He quickly removed the pads. "You can get dressed."

As Kaltreka replaced her clothing, Kai approached Xev. "I think she deserves to rest now." He did not attempt to hide his concern for Kaltreka.

I was so terrified when he touched me that I almost fainted, but I held onto consciousness long enough to dress myself, then collapsed to the floor...

I had no desire to remain anyway. "Sure Kai, whatever is easiest. Listen, if you see Stanley, tell him I'll be in my quarters." I picked up 790 and left.

IC: The feeling was covering my body quickly as I fell to the floor in pain. Unable to move, I lay there as I slowly pass out on the floor...

OOC: Yeah that was short but the reason is because I was wondering if you guys would prefer I turn Stan into a dangerous monster or something more...comical in nature? Just want some input on this little plot turn.

Renegade, it's pretty much up to you, but perhaps a balance of the two...?

WOW! I just looked over and realized: I'm no longer in "Virgin" status! Yipee!

IC: "Wow," Kai thought as he heard Kaltreka collapse to the floor behind him, "she must really be exhausted."

Kai looked over at Xev as she left. "Oh," he began, "before you go, Seven-Ninety, what should I do about Kaltreka's lip?"

Seven-Ninety rolled his "eyes." "Just apply pressure until it stops, ya dead doofus."

Xev gave Seven-Ninety a slap on the top of the head. "Sorry, Kai," she said. She looked over at Kaltreka. "I think Seven-Ninety needs a nap, too."

"Only if it's by you, my love," Seven-Ninety added. He and Xev left.

Kai approached Kaltreka. She was asleep and breathing heavily; her lip was still bleeding. Kai did as Seven-Ninety advised, hoping it didn't wake Kaltreka in the process. It didn't. After the bleeding stopped, Kai picked up Kaltreka and carried her to a spare room, laying her on the bed.

My eyes flickered open as I looked up at Kai. My Arikantin blood had made the five mintues of sleep more like five days, and I was fully rejuvenated. I pressed myself into the bed, shivering...

Kai was about to turn and go when Kaltreka woke up. "That was a nasty wound you gave to yourself back there," he opened. He noticed her pushing herself away from him. "Is anything the matter?" he asked.

"N..no!" I quickly said. He took a step closer. "Please, please don't hurt me," I begged him. I couldn't help it. I burst into tears...

This was a new thing for Kai. He wasn't sure how to proceed. On instinct and empathy, he decided to comfort Kaltreka as best he could. Sitting down on the bed, he attempted to gather her up and emprace her. "I won't hurt you, Kaltreka, I won't!" he said softly. He pleaded to help her understand.
