Lit Encouraged Diet Thread

Hey guys, just had weigh in :D

Lost 5 pounds, but put alot of weight on in muscle... so um guessing about 10 of fat lost, and 5 of muscle gained :).

Im going for Mens Health cover model next year :D. Gonna give me 12 months to get into shape :p

Hey, where are the regulars in this thread? Given up on the weight loss? :)

Rugby Magic - congrats! Now you have your goal of being a cover-guy. Give me a holler when they schedule you for the photo session of the magazine. :D

I plan on weighing in at the end of this week. Should be a good weigh in

Hi ShaiGirl and all. I haven't given up, just didn't do a weigh in recently. Weighed this morning and I'm at 239 now, down 8 more from my last post. Hell, maybe I don't want a job at the rate this is working! :)

moment of truth

I know its been a while but I weighed in today at 220, down 9lbs from my starting weight. I actually weighed myself yesterday at 217 but that was after a long run so I thought that wouldn't be accurate. How's everyone else doing?

Lost 12 this week. I am running up to 1.5 miles per day. I am hoping to get it up to 3 miles twice a day and get in the gym very soon.

I'm needing to do something other than hit thread on Lit.

Lost my job back in March and unemployment has not been kind to me so far. From a very healthy and damn-near cut 210 last year in November, I'm up to 250 and I've lost a lot of muscle from just not having 8 hour shifts of moving around and heavy lifting at work.

It's going to take some hard work to get this brought back down....

Good luck mate, youve got our full and total support in this matter.

Good afternoon everyone. I weighed in today at 244 pounds. Which brings my total weight loss to around 18 pounds in six weeks. I went out this week and bought new pants that fit. I was wearing a 46-48 waist and now I'm in a 42 inch waist. Been a long time since I wore a 42. Feels pretty good.

I have been watching this thread and I think it is beneficial for all of us. Let's keep up the great work we are doing and show others that it can be done.

I will post a pic next week to show the progression.

Have a great one!

SCM

Sioux City Male: Congrats! Wow, 18 pounds in a few weeks - that's quite an accomplishment! Keep up the good work. Glad you were able to buy trousers of a smaller size too. :)

I'm down to 111 lbs. I haven't been exercising much the past weeks, since I've been so busy, but I still keep to a healthy diet. Glad it paid off. ;)

The last time I wore a strapless top, meat was bulging from my armpits. Now I'm glad it isn't. :D

Good luck to everyone on this thread! :)

I need to lose at least 50 pounds. I work about 70 hours a week or more, stuck in my store so its hard to have time to go out and exercise...and hard to stick to any kind of diet working that kind of schedule.

I was doing well and lost around 12 pounds, but am back up to around 290 again. :(

Aww... I was in a similar situation before, and yeah, I gained weight too. Maybe you could try to eat more frequently but smaller portions (small frequent feedings) and munch on healthy snacks - carrot sticks or some fruits or low fat yoghurt maybe? - I dunno, it depends on you. Maybe you could use the stairs more often or walk a few blocks? But here's a lil nudge for you. :rose: :)

awww, thank you....its just hard to stick to anything. I get so tired from all the hours and end up drinking energy drinks just to stay awake. I've tried getting healthier stuff, but that costs twice as much and I have to eat twice as much of it just to not feel hungry all the time.

Just frustrating. Before I turned 30 I never had this problem. After I turned 30 I just ballooned out...I'm 35 now and tired of it.

Yeah... I remember eating low-fat yoghurt and it wasn't satisfying as the rich, creamy yoghurt. And yeah, I know how it is when one gets older and metabolism slows down. :( Here's to hoping that you get to do whatever programme to get fit. :)

Btw, I peeked at your profile pic and you thought you looked cute ;) - but I think you'll look cuter if you lost a lil weight. (I hope that didn't offend you).

Well thank you, that is very sweet of you. One girl who is a good friend of mine told me if I could just lose my belly it would make such a huge difference. Yet its so hard. I could work my ass off for 2 months to lose 10 pounds...then slack off for a week and its back with change.

Good luck to everyone on this thread! :)

Well Shai, you are looking good now! I see no meat in the armpits, and your legs are looking fantastic! You are a beautiful woman.

All I have been doing is eating from a program and walking. Today I am going to see a fitness trainer and start working out at a gym. Hopefully it will help to lose the extra 44 pounds quicker.

Weigh-in day

unfortunately no weight loss this week. I have seemd to plateaud(sp). Well, I guess it's time that I did join a gym and kick it up a notch or two. Oh well, maybe next week.

Aww... don't feel too bad, SCM. You've already lost noticeable weight, and bought new trousers for yourself! That's already an achievement! I don't know about plateauing (since I've never had to lose too much weight), so I can't help you there. Here's a :rose: to encourage you, and to help keep up your efforts. Have a good weekend! :)

Well, I joined the Y this weekend. I started working out on Saturday morning, Sunday afternoon and this morning. Plans are that the wife and I are going back again tonight as well. Hopefully, with all this, I will break the 240 pound mark. Wish me luck! I'll post after the weigh-in on Friday!

No weight loss again this week. I worked out every day this week too. Sweated my ass off and nothing. Tonight I am see a fitness trainer for an assessment. Maybe that will help, who knows.

Until next week everyone.

We got the Wii Fit Plus game for the Wii. We already had Wii Fit, but the plus is significantly improved...more games, more features, more yoga, more strength exercises, etc.

According to it, on Wednesday morning I was sitting at 248, and this morning I'm down to 244.5 I have cut my soda intake and that which I am drinking is diet. I'm also working on killing the fast food fix that I seem to have...which sucks because it's just so damn convienent on the way to class.

Next week I'm going to trim my junkfood intake down to almost nothing, or at least make better choices when going for the vending machine.

My goal is 215 pounds. That's where I was last year November and that's where I want to be again. I don't have a target date in mind, but by Christmas would be very nice.

Weighed in this week and weight is down to 234 lbs. Down seven from my last post and a total of about 23 since I started a few weeks ago. At this rate, I don't know if I want to go back to work - working out twice a day has really helped. I can actually breath in some of my pants now and the belt has moved in three notches.

Remember the motto: You must expend more calories than you take in!

Good luck everyone.

I don't drink any sodas, I cut out all the junk food a couple months ago, I went on a diet program so I supplement all my meals and I exercise about 1.5-2 hours a day and I didn't lose a thing. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? My calorie out put is more than the calorie input.

Bran Hopewell: Congrats on getting the WII and hope you get it into good use! As for your fast food fix, try to walk/drive faster when you're passing through the place. If you're walking, you'll burn more calories too! ;)

Mulehead: Wow, congrats on the weight loss! It feels good when your trousers are a little loose from before, right?! Hope you continue on your programme! :)

SCM: I dunno either what you're doing wrong, since you seem to be doing everything else right. :( Maybe it's best that you see the trainer or dietitian in the gym to monitor your programme. :)

good morning! perfect idea for a thread...good luck.
