One more quick hitter for the holiday weekend - would you rather be where you are, where you've been, or where you're headed?

I think they are all connected. Where you have been has brought you to where you are now and the things you do today will carve out where you are headed. It's important to find some happiness, something to be content with in all phases.

As for your second question...the older I get the less tolerance I have but I also have learned to pick my battles, some things are just not worth getting ruffled over. You can't control the actions of others but you can certainly control your own reaction. I am a fairly straight shooter though and if it is something I feel I have to call someone out on, I will, LIT or otherwise.

I remember my dad; today would have been his 78th birthday. He never got to see his second granddaughter, see me get married (again), or divorced (again). Some days, I miss him terribly, and wish he was here. But I also know that he is in a better place, free from pain, and want. And that I will see him again.....someday.

Both features I have used in the past, neither are features that I currently use. How I interact within lit has changed over time. Rather than try and see it all or stay "current", I allow my own mood and availability dictate my experience.

I have a subscribed list but it's very short. I tend to poke around more, or check out a thread if I see a Litster who hasn't posted in a while and may be coming back from a Lit break.
I also use Lit more from my phone than from the computer so my posting is slower. So I tend to stay away from the ABC threads. I only mess them up.
And I routinely go back to see what's on page 5 that might be worthy of reviving. Not sure why...

First and foremost, I need to apologize for my absence. I know my presence was greatly missed I promised I'd be back Papa Chained. So here I am.

I have a subscribed list. This is really the only one that is a regular on it though. I don't think I have any others that get updated. Buddy lists are kind of lame because they don't really do much for me. It would be convenient if you could click their name and message them. But if you're my friend, I really don't need a reminder of your name.

I used to participate in lots of threads when I first got here. Now, this thread is my one regular. I like most of the people in here. Some of you can be whiners, but you usually take my mockery in stride, which I like. I look at some threads on the GB. They can be so fun. I know people think the GB is filled with hate mongers. And it is. But they're clever and funny hate mongers. Plus, there is a little less fluff in there, which is nice sometimes. I also tend to enjoy a good dramatic thread. Oh man, I was happier than a pig in poo last week with that whole drama on the Dear Lister thread. That was brilliant. So much goodness. Seriously. It even had a voice recording of someone being emotionally unstable. That was wonderful. People were calling each other sluts and throwing insults- it was faaaaaaantastic.

I've been known to use my buddy list in order to avoid PMs of the wanky-variety. However, I've found that putting my tits away and daring to have an opinion has a similar effect on the virtual footfall in my inbox. Shocking, I know.

I use my buddy list for the purpose of actively taking an interest in others.
It's not stalking if it's a buddy-list.

Drama. Like many I avoid it. I saw that thread but actively stayed away. What bothers me most is that behind all the drama is someone that was so emotionally moved that it brought them to tears. The Lit I like is the one where good fun and orgasms abound.

I use neither feature. I visit the threads that interest me. I do read more than I post though and like Chained, my mood and time dictate where I go.

Oh I use the ignore feature. I like it. Especially in the GB. There are like 5 people who start 90% of the threads on there and they're all political threads. So, having them on ignore makes my GB experience way better. I don't have to shuffle through the political threads to find threads about the stuff I like.

I use the thread subscription options, but as far as I can tell, the only functions of the buddy list are to enable one to restrict PMs to one's buddies and to see quickly which ones are currently online. Neither of those features is useful to me.

Am I missing something?

I haven't really changed with regards to how I use Lit. The buddy button never seemed to work for me. I follow threads to find them easier or just to keep track of when anything is discussed.

I HAVE changed in the use of the ignore button. Years ago, if someone said something I didn't like, it incensed me to rage and I'd have an ignore list a mile long. Now I just ignore them mentally and have quite a short ignore list for people persistent in getting my attention

I'm piqued in seeing what changes are coming with the new control panel on Lit...

I had never used any of those features until the last 3 months or so. I now have 1 person who was mean to me, 8 obnoxious people, 1 overly enthiastic nudie pic sharer and 1 annoying cunt on my ignore list. It is quite useful.

I do subscribe to threads, however, I don't take full advantage of that feature. I almost never check my list. The few times I have, the threads have been closed due to the fact that I never updated them. Go figure. I usually just scan the forum for something that catches my eye and then it takes off from there. Ignore feature? You bet. It's so useful!
