22505

Sloooow going today.

Totally unrelated: either somebody snuck up through the woods with a turkey call, or that flock of wild ones is in the yard again.

Keep up the good work! :nana:

Its still possible everyone!

I had a friend who had yesterday off. He hammered out 8K words in ONE day, he's barely behind now.

ONE really good day can turn the tide.

Another friend last weekend did 12K in 2 days.

Every year people come from behind ina mad rush and finish.

You can still do it!

~Alex

I finished it this morning, though the story line isn't done. I have 57,725 words when I finished the chapter I was working on. Now how do I submit it for the contest? :nana:

There's a place on the nano website to plug it into the word counter. It's under update word count and excerpt.

i am SO not going to make it. Again. i'm having no help with the kids, and am having problems even typing this with one pulling at either arm. It takes one HELL of a lot to get me to spank them, but i'm seriously thinking about getting out either a belt or a wooden spoon....

Send them over here...They can make snowmen and play with my dogs and make my house a lot less quiet than it is right now. And thanks for the info, I'll do that now. :cathappy:

52,831! :nana: :nana: :nana:

It's a long way from being finished, but it's enough for me to take a well-deserved break! God, my head hurts... ;)

Congratulations!

I am so not going to make it, not by the end of the month, but the story's too interesting for me to drop, so I'll keep on keeping on.

That's the spirit! ;)

How the heck do you submit your story and get your winners icon again?

Just wanted to say again how much I admire you all for doing this.
It's fascinating! I look forward to participating next year...
& extend my very best wishes

Good Luck In The Home Stretch!

Ba-da-bom! "The End" (Or rather "The End, Again", since I had an end at 32 000 words, and added the mother of all epilouges to make it longer.) at 52 281 words.

Now back to a normal life.

You are da man. ;) So, when do we get to read it? I want. I want. I want.

Not that I'm greedy, or the like.

I'm not gonna make it....

on the other hand; 27,000 words is three times the longest thing I've ever written before. and it's not finished. and I like it.

will others like it? I hope so....once I finish it we'll find out, as I will farm it out to a few trusted friends to get opinions. including my original proofreader, who has threatened me with bodily harm if I let anyone keep me from finishing it and who refuses to read it yet for fear I will change it before it's completely mine...

< ... Raises head above parapet of completed marking ... >

There is a world out there!

In the unlikely event of anyone having actually missed me, I've been catching up on marking, and then managed three almost solid days writing, and managed to turn an estimated finishing date of March 15, 2007 (that's what the spreadsheet I downloaded from NaNo in 2003 told me on November 3, with 300 words recorded! Honest) into an estimated finishing date of November 27, 2005.

After managing to write 12k words over the last three days, I hit 45475 last night. I just need to maintain the momentum, so fingers crossed. I only wish I knew what the bad guys are up to!

Same here.

I knew going in that I wouldn't make it ... what with the Milwaukee trip & Thanksgiving school break & all the various meetings which seemed clustered into this month.

However, it was an interesting exercise ... and one I may repeat. (Wouldn't, like, February be a better month to NaNo, though? I mean, the weather keeping (most of) us indoors; no major holidays; no school breaks.)

Don't be like that, Alex. I'm sure that at some point in the midst of all the furious typing, word counts and proofreadings, someone stopped what they were doing and thought, "What the $@*& happened to Alex?" ;)

That wasn't sarcasm, by the way.

...no Valentine mooshiness...

Grattis Liar, bra gjort!!! :rose:

When I went to bed last night, I had reached 30.485. I've entered the 30K!!! :nana:
I'm visiting my parents this weekend (mum's birthday yesterday), and FINALLY they're all taking an afternoon nap; mum, dad, the dog Bella who's in heat, poor bitch, and the sex-starved, brain-melted-down-because-of-hormone-overload male dog Bilbo.
And me? I'm stuck. I have no idea how to move on with the scene I'm working on, so I'll just have to skip right to the big finale and write about the actual race itself, and then spend the last 3 days editing in another 10.000 words...

Like, adding scenery descriptions, weather observations, etc...
