Long Distance Relationships

I'm glad to hear things are going well with you ebony. Daeth's leaving our relationship didn't come as a surprise to me but it still hurts. He tells me he wants to remain friends but then doesnt talk to me. Just really reinforces the image that he had already met someone locally before dumping me. *Sighs* I hate men at times

Our new LDR

For several months now i have closely watched this thread weave its way through the lives of many couples for many reasons, one of which was that i was in the early stages of getting to know someone SPECIAL myself from across the Atlantic..


Well, after a few months this friendship took a new turn as We both took a chance by bridging the great divide and meeting, knowing that without this important step Our chances of progressing much further in the immediate future were slim, due to many factors, living very busy individual lives just ONE of them.......

Several of You may know this person as She has posted on this thread on occassion, offering Her special words of strength and reassurance to those who may have needed it at that time.....

stuck in the middle of a very new ldr right now, with huge events on the horizon, and ,i have been missing him all day , but , i have to admit , reading through all the encouragement on here, really helped out bunches, thanks all who have posted....

Well,

Had a nice chat one the phone with my Ex today. She's back in the states until the end of the week. Might be seeing her either Thursday or Sunday.

We got some time to express to each other where, from our perspectives, things went wrong without pointing fingers or blaming. One of the reasons this has been so difficult is that we're both the kind of people who are capable of doing that, and I don't meet women who are that way very often, I don't think they often meet men who are that way, either. Was a tear-jerker for a little while but it was re-assuring that we can still openly communicate with each other.

I wasn't originally sure if I'd be able to handle seeing her so soon, but I think it'll go well. I think its something we both need to do. I'm pretty sure we won't end up back together at this point, but we'll understand each other better.

It will, however, be emotionally draining. Wish me luck

I am still very angry at you-know-who. Even though I have moved on,and have met some other special people who are weaseling their way into my heart.

I do not not think men are scum, it just seems so unfiar that they can do some of the things they do, and say it is for the best. How arrogant.

Not all men are arrogant either. Not all women are evil castrating bitches.

Life goes on, thank goodness.

One thing is for certain, with me when I am finished, I am finished. NO "friendship" for me. I am gone, permanently. for me a clean break is best.

But I didn't get any.

After our phone conversation ended, she became a nervous wreck for a few hours. I put off discussing our breakup thouroghly until recently because I wanted to wait until all the different emotions had run their course, and we'd know what to make of 'em. We both did, and apparently we concluded one thing, we miss the hell out of each other.

Originally I'd been thinking that maybe it'd be too painful for me to see her. That thought didn't go over too well with her at first, but after she got off the phone with me last night (The call started with me apologizing for "Not being able to see her on this visit, due to my confusion over my own feeling, and the short duration of her visit" which was answered with her trying to think ov every possible way to make the 2 hour trip to see me since she's on vacation and I'm not) she decided that she'd probably do nothing but cry the entire trip here, the time we were together, and the time she was going back home.

So we came to the agreement that we won't see each other on this trip home, and probably not for another 10 months. I'm not sure if I'm relieved or saddened by this, probably a mix of both, and now we both have a whole 'nother mess of feelings to sort through, some on our own, some together.

Its just been one fucking big emotional train-wreck, and it has become evident to us both that we need more time to sort through the rubble.

You haven't heard from me because he's gone MIA.... again.
Last I heard from him was last Friday when he was going to Frankfurt to pick up his passport, he said.
Not one peep since then. Not answering his phone, nor his email, nor any of the million or so IM's I've been sending. I am, as per usual, in the dark and not feeling very good about it these days. Last time he was gone this long, he had been detained... this time, I have no idea what his excuse will be. I'll tell you one thing, it had better be damned good.
