I think there are a few things that make this story... Special.

1. It goes beyond the normal deception that takes place here. (e.g., my dick is this long, I'm this age, I'm not married, etc.)

2. There was seemingly no gain here. Whilst some people quickly offered to send money, I doubt that was the reasoning. That's a hell of lot of work for what might amount to a few hundred bucks. I think the motives were crazy, not money.

3. She had a LOT of people fooled. Our normal story of someone getting outted is one person claims to be exclusive with a lister, then it comes to light they are e-nailing (thanks @hotwords229_A) a bunch of women. Maybe Des holds the record?

This was a catfish of epid proportions. A special kind.

oh and btw.. If she was 46 and her husband says they've been together for 35 years. They've been together since she was 11.

I think you having all this info on her bothers me more than the mystery surrounding Bri.

I'll admit there is a lot of smoke but I don't understand the motivation behind doing it. Attention? She gave as much as she got. Whoever was behind the screen name portrayed a kind person that brought a smile to many faces. I think the board will miss that presence. The sleuthing, eh, I find that more interesting in AmPics threads or when someone is causing problems/scamming people.

So, yeah, Bri, whoever she/he was, will be missed.

I took the screenshots because I found it funny that she was claiming to be multiple women. Not as funny as the other very well-known playgrounder who's done this. She was once the back of a Mongolian. I'm Amateur Crispy compared to some people talking about this on here and in my inbox.

Good point. However I've seen her post in other dramas and it looks like she knows a lot of info on a lot of old posters here.

Because I did love Bri's personality I didn't love the shit she has so obviously done now. I'm pretty horrified at it.

This here post is actually pretty damn painful to me. I had a "relationship" "writing partnership" "mad crazy love affair" whatever you want to call it with Mo the other writer its how Bri found him in the first place.
I absolutely hate that when I was on break she snuck in behind me and did this shit after knowing my feelings on him and that he of all people did this behind my back knowing we were friends.
She knew my issues with coming to terms with feelings for mo and still trying to mourn my husband now I'm left feeling like how much of that was a joke to "her" and shared with him.

This might not even seem like a big issue to anyone else but it shows me how shifty she/he/it was.

But hey at least they both put it out there to wave it in my fucking face.

The reason this is bigger and all is that the person who perpetrated this fraud came here and announced she had died. Sending people who loved or cared for the fraud he had created into deep sorrow. Beyond she left because she's not interested in being here, but she died and died tragically.

That is fucked up as a football bat and why people are so intent on providing evidence that the persona that was here was not a real person and did not die tragically, they never existed to die. Whatever the motives for both the fraud ( that happens here a lot, oh well) but the cruelty of announcing her accident and death, that person needs to be strung up by his balls and horse whipped.

I can’t speak for AHTQ, but I’m guessing based on her post that she was suspicious Bri was a catfish but maybe had no actual proof. And though she has but 64 posts, she very clearly has been around a very long time and is very aware of what’s going on around here.

Jesus Christ, people. There was a much more high profile case of this that happened many years ago on here (a dude posing as a female poster for fucking years and fooling almost everybody, before being outed as a fake), and even that didn't get this much attention and discussion.

News flash: these things happen on these forums quite often, for whatever strange reason. If you haven't learned any lessons about trusting other members (well, not every member, of course) on here, perhaps now is the time.
