Melbourne (AUS)

well it's finally happened-my wife and her friend have gotton together and arranged a night out for their birthdays which are a week apart. they settle on a night 1/2 way between the days for my wife, myself, her friend and her friends husband to go out to an early dinner, catch a flick at the gold class and spend the night. the date they chose? august 20!

Or perhaps we should change the venue to the same place you guys are having dinner?????

Too tired last night to wave as I went past......

so has the time been finalised? August 20 huh? i always seem to be double booked  my diary says Astor double feature.

I assume the hotel is the one on Warrigal Road, Chadstone? Found this page.

EDIT: haha, everyone's post frequencies put mine to shame! A dozen posts in 3 1/2 years!

So this is also a scratching???

Cum on ossie....we were all looking forward to finding out a bit more about you! As you say 12 posts in 3 years isn't a great deal and doesn't give us much to go on.......

actually funnily enough where i'm having dinner isn't far from where you are-in glen waverly to be exact. as for waving i'll be going to tullamarine most days this week so i'll wave as i go past where i roughly think you are from the tollway

Will be in Jeff's shed every day from Wednesday to Sunday...so you will have to wave at me there!

Glen Waverley, Batty....so close and yet so far.......

No, lit meeting is my priority at this stage, i can always see films any other time. Unless you guys change the date. How are numbers looking now?

Cum on ossie! That was funny!

No plans to change the date, ossie...

.....and as for the "Cum on"....entirely accidental, I can assure you!

I take that as sarcastic and patronising, but I'll let it slide just this once.

I thought it was funny because it was the old cricket motto from the 70s/80s.

that was c'mon aussie c'mon, not cum on aussie, cum on-that would be messy and sticky. although it might explain shane warnes phone antics-he misunderstood the slogan!

sorry to interrupt, but as for old 70's nostalgia, here in the UK they've only just begun to advertise 'nibble nobby's nuts'!!!
thought i was going mad when i saw it.
anyway, i just thought i'd share it with you.
BTW, whatever happened to Paul Hogan's sidekick, Strop? And Delvene Delany??

Next time I'll remember to call you by the "d" bit of your nick instead...then I won't make any unintentionally "sarcastic and patronising" gaffs!

I do remember the saturation cricket coverage that used that particular slogan....must have subliminally infiltrated and resurfaced under intense questioning!

Poor Nobby......he must really be suffering by now!

Sometimes you wonder why it takes so long for others to catch on!

John Cornell...ie Strop....still in the business but in writing and production..not seen in performance roles any longer. The lovely DD is doing the wife and mother bit, I think...haven't seen hide nor hair for some time.

Whatever happened to 'Abigail'?

Funnily enough, she moved in just up the road from where I live!

I can't say that she has aged all that well..........still got the long "blond hair and the big blue eyes!"

Used to pop down to the local shops wrapped in a trench coat, big floppy hat and dark glasses.....no matter what the time of day or weather...

Hasn't appeared on screen for a vvvvvveeeeeeeerrrrrrrrryyyyy long time except in nostalgia shows when they've screened original footage.

As for the delectable Mrs Strop...I don't think you were alone when it came to having masterbatory fantasies over her....there was a great deal of that going on all over the country! :D

good lord. nostalgia.
i remember tv shows such as Division 4, Homicide, and The Young Doctors!!!
Oh, and The Box!

Number 96?

If you remember Abigal...you must remember the first show on Aussie TV to show an openly gay character.......and all those tits!

If you remember "The Young Doctors"... you would recall that Mark Holden (cutsie singer with carnations) was one of the heartthrob doctors in the series...he's now doing the "Australian Idol" thing.......

thank you people-you are making me feel young as these were before my teenage years! i have never seen the box or no 96. never saw much of the paul hogan show as my parents never watched it and never knew delvene delaney was on it-to me she was an ex sale of the century hostess in the 80's! never watched the young doctors and untill a few minutes ago didn't know mark holden was on it although i do remember his " music". i think that given his talent he has no right to be nasty to others on australian idol.

The mid 70's were a very interesting time for TV in Aus ...Countdown.....whole new batch of quiz shows....then later we got things like Skyways..... Prisoner.... Neighbours, of course.... The Sullivans.... Matlock Police etc etc

.....and if it makes you feel younger still, Batty, Australia was instrumental in the worldwide Abba phenomenon getting started... Molly pushed them on Countdown and suddenly you couldn't move for Abba.....

 now that was a bit too long ago to be remembering too accurately I think......might be giving away just how many years are under this particular belt if I go on much more...;)
