Saw Russell Morris live back in my college days....at the time The Real Thing was a hit.....incredible performance....must have a look at this DVD you're talking about, Scummie...could be good for a bit of a nostalgia trip...I think my drink of choice was brandy and dry in those days...so I will have to crack out a bottle or two and sit back and relive my formative years.

It's a great DVD if you like that style of music... umm and as per your SIG line, how could I since we haven't even seen an AV from ya......

Think there was a hint there somewhere?

Ahhhhh yes........the question of the AV........as you can tell by the post rate I have well and truely cracked it to actually have an av.....but have apparently done nothing about it.

I thought long and hard about putting something up...just a pic or the like of something that would be of interest, perhaps say something about who I was...then couldn't be bothered..was having no end of trouble with the 'puter and loading stuff...gave it away as a bad joke.

Have a newer computer now and just added some extra memory, so that's no longer the issue. However the question of a suitable pic is. There are none in existance that I would even remotely consider fit for human consumption.

All I can advise re the sig line is...there are a couple of the "aussies" who have met me, maybe you should ask for their opinions and see what they say. I, my friend, are mine own worst enemy...I have nothing but bad words to say about myself.

I agree on the later Enz, I even preferred some earlier stuff to True Colours "I See Red" etc. Loved bands like Devo, The Specials, Madness, very early Midnight Oil, Jethro Tull and of course Pink Floyd.

A dvd I got recently you may want to have a look at: Cotton, Keays and Morris, Live at the Basement. Cotton (Zoot), Keays (Masters Apprentices) and Morris (as in Russell - The real thing etc.) They are still so professional even today and a great sound with all those old songs playing together.

I loved Devo from their early stuff, especially an hour long video which was very strange. In one part they had those masks on that were like Americans in the 1950's and they had ping pong bats which they were slapping a girl on the bum with. She also had a mask on with her finger pointing up on her chin if you can imagine the expression.... quite bizzare and great at the same time.

Fav songs though were, Mongoloid, Gut Feeling / Slap Your Mammy and Uncontollable Urge....even there version of the Rolling Stones "I Can't Get No Satisfaction"

Some music faves from my adolescence was KISS, Bryan Ferry, Split Enz, Bay City Rollers, ABBA, Police, Toni Basil, Joan Jett, Cold Chisel, Meatloaf and many more. I can sing (not well) most Credence Clearwater Revival songs thanks to going to weekly parties with mum and dad.

heh heh remember stuff like "Lucy in the sky with Diamonds" (is that the name or just a line).

Grew up with my parents listening to Linda Ronstandt and stuff like that.

But one of my all time favourite things to do was to go the late session of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", we used to take candles, newspapers, rice and stuff and the whole audience really got into it.

"The Rocky Horror Picture Show"........I've seen that movie so many times...and the best is outdoors....once down at Wilson's Prom..in the walk in outdoor cinema they had there. That was an unusual night as they had wombats that used to wander around the campsite at night...you could get some unusual company sitting on your patch of dirt!

My other favourite time was in the Botanic Gardens at Moonlight Cinema...the bats overhead was a great added extra.

Loved Rocky Horror....saw it heaps even before the candles, newspaper etc. came along. Then I went to more later with the above and actually felt a little intruded on to be honest, as there were all these wannabe's joining in. Not sure if that makes sense or not, saw it about 11 times at cinemas and have the remastered DVD which is great.
Something else I loved was JCS (Jesus Christ Superstar) in those days, and saw it live with Jon English, Trevor White and Marcia Hines to name a few. Concerts I saw were Alice Cooper with Welcome to my Nightmare, Pink Floyd, Queen, 10cc, The Police and an Aussie one that springs to mind was a new years eve show when 15 and had AC/DC, Cold Chisel, Little River Band, Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs and three other bands who remain memory less......lol

It was....quite some time ago now...but crawling into your sleeping bag after that was "interesting"....

Seems quite a lot of the Victorian members are from the Gippsland region....must be all that lush green grass or something!

showing my age now but I went to an AC/DC concert at the Traralgon town hall. at that time Traralgon had a population of 15,000 and the hall only held a few hundred people

Well they were bigger at the concert I mentioned but I saw them a bit in the early days.... remember seeing INXS, Midnight Oil, Divinyls in pubs in the early days, they were good times.... The Oils were amazing in a small area and was just after they brought out their "Head Injuries" albumn which is still my fav.
