New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani

Fox IS headquartered in NYC, I suppose?
As far as I know, yes. Like most right-wing leaders who like to rail against coastal elites, they themselves are very much what they like to preach against. I would love to see how they'd like living in the actual areas they're always pandering to.

Point is, living there, the Fox journalists cannot escape or deny the actual on-the-ground consequences, good or bad, of Mamdani's mayoralty. Those will be in their faces every day.

They won't be able to escape them, but we are not talking about people who have any qualms whatsoever about lying. So of course they can deny it all they want.

Mamdani is off to a bad start, imho.

YMMV.

I really have no idea how Zohran Mamdani will work out as Mayor of New York City, but neither do I have any idea how you've got yourself into such a tizzy about him.

When you say "Mamdani is a lot like Trump in certain ways," you are comparing a democratic socialist Moslem immigrant to the USA from Uganda with a middle-class background who served in the NY state legislature and worked for some time in politics before running for mayor with a nativist son of a wealthy real estate mogul who lost a racial discrimination in housing case and bankrupted several casinos before running for the highest office in his nation without any political experience whatsoever.

But then you deflate that comparison by saying "Trump is . . . orders of magnitude worse than Mamdani."

You admit he got more than a million votes, more than any candidate since John Lindsay in 1965 (and more than the Democratic and Republican candidates COMBINED in 2021), but somehow are "not impressed"!

You say that, despite this, the new Mayor of New York City has no "mandate." But what do you mean by that? If by a mayor having a "mandate" you mean that the City Council should just roll over and pass whatever bills he wants without comment, of course not. But your attitude seem to be more appropriate for an election victor who had a plurality of 35% in a low-turnout election.

Your reading comprehension is lacking.

My posts clearly articulate my position (which isn’t what you have interpreted it to be)

Try harder.

Do better.

Your comment here is not an argument.

At some point it gets circular…

It has reached that ^ point…

If you want an answer, read through my previously posted comments in this thread.

You will get no more from me.

I’m glad that Mamdani’s supporters are so up front about their hatred for Jews. It means I don’t have to work so hard.
I like BrightShinyGirl a lot, but I am going disagree with her here, not on Israel and genocide, but on Zohran Mamdani.

If I lived in New York City I would have voted for Mandani, and I do not hate Jews, as anyone who has read many of my comments knows. I like Jews a lot, and Israel too.

For me the issue here is affordability. I want New York City to be affordable for working class and middle class people, as it used to be. I think Mandani deserves a try at this.

During the War in Vietnam I belonged to an organization named "The Democratic Socialist Organizing Committee." At the time DSOC was staunchly pro Israel.

I no longer believe in socialism, but I do not dislike it. I accept capitalism, but I do not like it.

True, but your brand of "admiration" for them is exactly the basis for a whole lot of the anti-Semitism that's out there. It's best we don't lose sight of that.
