Runners unite?

I run, but lately I've got into hill racing, and try and improve on my times getting to the summit of hills. Sometimes it's more of a clamber, but the drive to reach the top really works. It just puts a more exciting spin on having a run. :)

I wish I could run! In a cast until the end of October. :( BUT, my goal is Patriots Day in mass next spring. Oh, I will be in the middle of the pack. But i'll have fun!! :D

That would cause me some very evident difficulties! :D

I don't think about sex much while I'm running. If I see a shapely fit lady on the course, then I do notice and appreciate her for a few moments, but then I return my focus to the run.

It's a different matter, though, when I return from a run. If I've had a good workout then my focus often shifts rapidly towards the possibility of energetic sex!
.

Definitely different for a guy...

I started running to focus on some issues Iwas having in a past relationship but now that there's no issues I just think about sex...

fucking anybody who runs by me in the park, going home and jumping my husband, or getting on here and taking care of business myself, like most mornings

My kind of gal lilblonde69er. :)

Sex is the only thing I can think about when running, especially at a race. Somehow the miles melt away while imagining all the things you would like to do with the person ahead of you. If I think about running invariably I degenerate to "What the heck am I thinking" morass of negativity.

Sex is way more fun. :)

I agree... Male or female I find myself doing the same thing

I'll have to give that a try, then! I'll report back if it works for me. :D

Nope, definitely nothing going on in the head apart from looking for rocks and roots on the trail ahead. Road running does nothing for me these days, give me a hill or trail anytime, I'm not happy running until I'm sweaty and breathing hard.

I'm pretty much of the same mindset. I focus on my form, my breathing, rhythm and cadence. I challenge myself to beat myself on yesterday's run. If I see someone else on the road, it sparks my competitive nature and I find myself pushing to be better.

Sex and pleasure comes later. It always does. ;)

Absoloutley love running, its so addictive and have now ran for about 15 years. I love entering races. The Great North Run is the best run ever.

I must admit though, i don't think much about sex while I'm running, but when I'm not running.........i only think about about sex:) once every seven seconds.

I'm more of a cyclist and I run on alternate days for strength training and to keep myself from getting bored. Plus I enjoy being active and being outdoors is a plus! Living in California spoils me by being able to do this almost year round though!

Love it!

 You sound like the kind of running partner I need.

For me it's also about trying to run down the person I see ahead of me. Although I have to confess that it can take me a while to overtake them if they have a cute butt. :D

Heart rate monitor Red? Or just natural? works both ways.

lol, to later, got to agree with you there.

What type of cycling Sophie? Mountain biking or road? Got to admit my geography as far as California is concerned is limited...oops

Definitely agree with you there!

Long run yesterday. At mile 7, I definitely could have used some "pace booty" to follow.

Raced in a half marathon over the weekend. I finally achieved my PR goal and finished in less than 1:30.

I just noticed this thread and thought I would say hello. Nothing better than starting my day with a good run:)

I've always enjoyed the solitude of running alone. It's the only time I can claim as my own. Although running after a cute butt definitely would provide some kind of motivation. For sure. ;) Can't argue with that logic.

I do have a heart rate monitor however I forget it half the time so it's ineffective.

HRMs are the way ahead if used correctly, they don't deplete you too much so you've got the energy for other things later on ;)

5km yesterday and 10km this morning for the first time since enduring a head cold for just over a week. I'm still slightly under the weather -- a few tens of seconds slower than normal -- but I'm relieved that I don't seem to have lost much fitness, as I have another race coming up soon. :)

Does anyone else find it annoying to have one's running achievements put down by non-running friends and relatives? I blame media coverage that pushes out inclusive but over-simplistic messages such as "anyone can run a marathon" (which may be true, but overlooks the necessity for a great deal of discipline, dedication and training).
.

Anyone can run a marathon though.

They can run it but if they aren't conditioned to do so they'll do quite a bit of harm to themselves.

Newspapers/journalists tend to simplify things so the masses will read their crap.
