This is how I know I’m not a foodie. I like and appreciate good food. Well made food. I like going to nice restaurants. I appreciate when people make nice meals for me. I will even occasionally plan and prepare nice meals for others. But it has to be FOR others.

Just the food and the act of making the food does nothing for me. Brings me no joy.

Yeah, I am weird. I mean for other reasons too, but also this.

Making food for others is a love language, but I also just love the process, especially when building something somewhat complex. My ex never understood why l liked making soup so much.

But meal planning and then the execution just seems like a bit much every fucking night. However, the one meal I will do for myself if I'm on my own is a baked potato and filet mignon or a roasted veggies and quinoa salad. Those are easy and quick and relatively healthy.

Otherwise, it's scrambled eggs or yogurt... Lol

I love my air fryer. I think my grandmother would have as well...her little kitchen was full of gadgets and things she tried out. She loved to try new things.

But now that y'all got me thinking about it...

People love to call people who eat like I do "picky eaters"... I kind of hate the term, because it sounds like I think I'm special or something. That isn't it at all. I only eat a few foods because most foods are just completely unappetizing to me. Think of whatever food you hate the most, and someone sticks that in front of you and says that's what you have to eat. Do you eat it? No (at least I would hope not). For me, that's just a whole lot bigger list of foods that are just almost repulsive.
