Yeah, she's quite the one, over there. And, there's nothing wrong with that, because she's found more local Portland friends there, I think. She's not chicklet over there.

Me, I'm over there too, but I've been thinking about of just dropping my profile there. I'm not finding any more friends there than I have here, and although there seem to be more local people there, they don't know me, and so they treat me like I'm some outsider or something. I'm not a social person, because I work nights, and because I don't socialize with the locals, I guess they think I'm some kind of narc or something.

I did meet one local woman at Fetlife. She did a very thorough check on me. There are some people in the lifestyle that remember me from before I started working nights. But, after all of her checking, the only thing that made me lose was the other guy seemed more macho, I think.

He had a picture of himself in his Fetlife profile holding a crocodile by the head and he was dressed like some Crocodile Dundee wannabe. But, I guess macho isn't everything it seems, because she's no longer with him, after only 2 months. There must have been something else about me she didn't go for because she never checked back with me. Frankly, I think I'm better off, because I don't do macho that well. I'm just me.

But for what it's worth, I guess Fetlife has its good parts. I just wish they would change some things.
1) Get rid of that white text on black background crap. I can't read it very well.

2) What's with not being able to edit your posts?

3) The whole layout of the site is so convoluted, I don't even notice some messages I've received. That wall thing? Why is it so far down the page? I forget it's even there.

4) The only search engine the site has won't search for what you want it to. And if you happened to post to something that didn't belong to one your current Fetlife friends...if you don't remember where it was, you'll never find it again.

5) You can't browse the site and respond to any thread you find interesting, until you become a member of that group. So, what do you do? Join the group just so you can respond?

6) And if people really left because of some clique thing, I've sure experienced that at Fetlife, too. I've also been treated as a troll, and a know-it-all, and just plain badly, because I don't suck up or something, I guess.

But, as far as chicklet is concerned, she's doing fine. I think she's found her a new home.

Yeah I agree the entire site is designed poorly and you have to log in every time. The only cool thing is you can find any city in the world. I found someone in Palin's hometown who didn't like her.

Yep. I like the search by location feature.
Although it has its drawbacks if you are trying to stay under the radar ...

I get on better with Fetlife now I access it through Internet Explorer.

When I was trying to access it through Firefox, it continually timed out, but in Internet Explorer, it works fabulously.

I still prefer it here. I think I always will. I spend some time there but all of DVS's points are why it's not my fav.

If I were actively looking for local things to do, I think it could be very useful for that.

It amuses me that fetlife people talk about how more "real" people are there than on CM and other sites. Sure. I'll bet.

I'm on FL but I prefer it here. I haven't added any friend over there because I like to just browse and not "collect kinksters"... I guess if I sepnt more time ther I'd maybe reach out to someone. That, and I haven't put a blurb about myself & feel it owuld be a bit cheeck to send a freind request without offering a bit about myself first.

The issue I have with it is that I don't want to have to join all the groups & I hate having to go back to the home page all the time to follow a thread....
I find the conversation here more of a 2 way street also with people discussing opinions, even if not everyone agrees with everyone. It seems that the Sumbissive Womens Group is a lot of subs sticking together (yay for them!) but doesn't seem to provide more information. I can understand the need to netwrking & making friends to talk to.. but I guess I hangout more to find others opinions rather than people just agreeing with each other & supporting each other. I do like thatthere are some specific groups though where I can find all sorts of information on topics not covered here a lot. (Like Daddies & their little girls).....

I guess it's just a matter of make the most of the strengths of anythning in your life.. and remember that the internet is a great place to start but will never be 100% real life without additional efforst to get to know topics & people off-line.

There is a huge street light very close to my front yard that supplied most of the light and a timer on the camera - it took several shots at 4:30 am to get those that I posted. I was hoping the neighbors were better sleepers then I was that morning

You should have gone on out there, walked right up to the driver's window, leaned in and told them they were on private property and next time, it would be nice if they ask first.
