The group thingy at fetlife is pretty interesting. I started a golf group and a garden group. People said of each that they never expected to see that on a bdsm board. But why not? We have other interests too.

You could start with searching for the city name, or possibly the state name... that should get you 'close' then ask in the groups if there's one set up for folks closer to you.

Of course you could always start your own!

There is a Southeastern US group that post tons of events you can go to. So you might try regional groups too.

Another way to find a local group would be to find someone from your city and check the groups they're members of.

I've found more success with finding groups by seeing what groups my friends join. I also found the munch group through searching my members that live in my state. We don't have a fetgroup for the munch though.

I would have to have permission of the group organizer to start the group.

Yeah I've made a few comments in a few threads there and I think people have found me there. OK so maybe that isn't TOTALLY random, but some other friend requests MUST be random, I feel sure.

I'm over there to keep tabs on local groups, as TheLaw. Although I'll agree, some of the organization is lousy, their picture gallery setup certainly beats the attachment design over here.

Most days I check into both here and Fetlife. Daddy has joined Fetlife also and is relatively active which makes it fun.

They have one of those "remember me!" functions on there now. You tick the box and it remembers you.

I really like Fetlife, but the one thing that annoys me is going into the Submissive Women group and finding a new thread with someone going on about how they've messed up and their Dominant is mad with them and they don't know what to do, or that their Dominant has told them to ask how we think they should be punished.

Blah blah blah.

The sorts of threads that are made so they get alot of people going "it's okay honey, we're all human and all make mistakes, there there."

Or the sort I like to call attention whoring.

Don't get me wrong, there is some great discussion on the groups on Fetlife and some very wise people, but the ones that whine about having done wrong or want us to tell them how they should be punished annoy me.
