On this particular question (don't have sex with Republicans) the main thing I always want to ask is:

Are you having sex with Republicans now? (If the answer is yes, then it's a relevant question - do you want to be in a relationship with someone who holds a view of something you don't approve of and are you willing to terminate that relationship because of it. That is a constant relationship question that touches everyone.)

But, if you're not having sex with a Republican and you're not planning sex with a Republican - then vowing not to have sex with them is just words on a screen - an imaginary solution to an imaginary problem, so, to me, why waste any energy on it?
