I think that this thread must be this month's winner of the "Make-The-Most-People- Feel-Bad Thread" award.

Hmmmpf!

Damn! You beat me to it!

I've been meaning to post that dr_mabeuse writes good shit! 'Specially if you enjoy a good spanking the way I know Vella does. I'd put down my favorite (The House on Charlevoix Street series) but it's since been pulled and published. See? I told you he writes good shit.

:)

(p.s. You've been in my favorites on my bio page since it became available, doc. :rose: )

Hello! Don't mean to hijack your thread Vella but it seems their are more then few intelligent people here so I pose this question since I was looking for something to read this summer.

Looking for a book of short stories, though non erotic if possiable. Anyone have any recommendations?

I already passed my quota for short dirty stories this year so I need to give my mind a short break to cool off :D

Thank you very much for all the suggestions. I just placed an order at amazon.com and should have a couple of books soon. I wrote down the other books that were recommended, I will take a look at when I finish these or they become available (some seem to be out of print).

Thanks again

In case some here might be interested

Okay, I love to read, but various kinds, and, as someone said recently, books are expensive.

Maybe you've seen ads, especially on the net, for discount books, but wondered if they were really good books. Here's a source I've used for years, and ordered hundreds of books from, and only gotten one book I wasn't pleased with as to physical quality of the book.

I've gotten many books that have those little red or black marks, apparently indicating that they're overstocks, or some such, but new in every respect otherwise, and I've also gotten books that were brand new, and unmarked in any other way (often safeguarded in clear plastic wrapping).

I mentioned this privately to one other person, and was asked if I was a salesman for them. The answer is no!

I said something about being able to see them on the web, and was told that don't order via the web. I don't either.

I'm on their mailing list, and since I buy from them, they follow it up with a separate mailing of books on clearance for $1.95 to $3.95. Just got an Ann Rice for one of those, plus the follow up to the Celestine Prophecy, The Tenth Insight, for $1.95.

They usually have 5 to 10 pages of fiction in their regular catalog, plus what they term Literature books, and also sections for Short Stories, plus another for Children's Books.

Also, they have sections for Science, Psychology, Computers, Gardening, Collectables, Arts and Artists, etc., etc., etc. In the regular catalog, it runs about 90 to 100+ pages, and the start of it has what they consider new arrivals (usually about 30+ pages.

New arrivals are not offered on their web site. Their web site is: Edward R. Hamilton, Bookseller. From there you can request a catalog, I think, but if not, write them at (their name), Falls Village, Ct. (USA for you out of country folks that may be interested), 06031-5000.

The best thing, besides the books, is that in the USA, there is only a $3.50 postage charge no matter how many books you order. I've ordered as many as sixty or more books for that one $3.50 charge.

Again, my only connection to them is that of being a very satisfied customer for many years.

Hope this helps some.

P.S.

The latest Edward R. Hamilton catalog has, in the New Arrivals section:

Literotica: The Very Best of Literotica.Com, Ed. by Lori Selke. Sizzling collection of 12 tales includes the story of a white hot menage a trois, and a musician who fallls fast and hard for her band's new keyboardist. Adults only, 239 pages (Black Book, pub. at $16.00) $4.95.

(Page 33 of 96 pages.)

That's all it says.

Another way

when i have to hang around waiting to pick someone up or at the dr.'s office, i bring my Clie' with me. i have palmreader and it enables me to d/l books from Peanutpress

the books are pretty inexpensive and are unabridged. if you join the mailing group you get an extra 10% or so off.
they also have palmreader for your computer that is free to d/l. another thing im going to look into is the ability to make your stories into ebooks with the program they offer.

its a good idea if youre a electronic geek like me.

Here's one for you to get wet by Vella, it's a story by me and called 'Mind Reader 3,' if that one doesnt get you going nothing will.lol
