I also think that all the chores we did, and for all that we mumbled about doing them, helped make us somewhat more self responsible and that is something that is sadly lacking in today's society.

very true ......i so agree.....and if we didn't do it right we had to redo it....that use to make me mad

Was just surfing Lit and came across your thread Mary, I have spent the last hour or so reading alot of it. Great jokes have been told, feelings have been shared, memories have been told and I find this to be a very nice place to come to.

I could sit here and comment on so many things, but I am afraid that I would forget to include someones name, and that may offend someone........so I will just say that I am very glad that I took the time to read so many wonderful posts here tonight.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and an even better week ahead. Hello to everyone that doesn't know me from other threads.........and it is so nice to see so many familiar people. I plan on stopping by often.........there are alot of caring ppl here that I am anxious to meet.

Hugs and Licks to all............Puddin

It will be nice to have that special someone here for Thanksgiving to cuddle with.

Don't remember if I have posted this one before...just in case I have, here it is again.

The Oreo Personality Test

Psychologists have discovered that the manner in which people eat Oreo cookies provides great insight into their personalities. Choose which method best describes your favorite method of eating Oreos:

1. The whole thing all at once.
2. One bite at a time
3. Slow and methodical nibbles examining the results of each bite afterwards.
4. In little feverous nibbles.
5. Dunked in some liquid (milk, coffee...).
6. Twisted apart, the inside, then the cookie.
7. Twisted apart, the inside, and toss the cookie.
8. Just the cookie, not the inside.
9. I just like to lick them, not eat them.
10. I don't have a favorite way because I don't like Oreo.

Your Personality:

1. The whole thing.
This means you consume life with abandon, you are fun to be with, exciting, carefree with some hint of recklessness. You are totally irresponsible. No one should trust you with their children.

2. One bite at a time.
You are lucky to be one of the 5.4 billion other people who eat their Oreos this very same way. Just like them, you lack imagination, but that's okay, not to worry, you're normal.

3. Slow and Methodical.
You follow the rules. You're very tidy and orderly. You're very meticulous in every detail with every thing you do to the point of being anal retentive and irritating to others. Stay out of the fast lane if you're only going to go the speed limit.

4. Feverous Nibbles.
Your boss likes you because you get your work done quickly. You always have a million things to do and never enough time to do them. Mental breakdowns and suicides run in your family. Valium and Ritalin would do you good.

5. Dunked.
Every one likes you because you are always up beat. You like to sugar coat unpleasant experiences and rationalize bad situations into good ones. You are in total denial about the shambles you call a life. You have a propensity towards narcotic addiction.

6. Twisted apart, the inside, and then the cookie.
You have a highly curious nature. You take pleasure in breaking things apart to find out how they work, though not always able to put them back together, so you destroy all the evidence of your activities. You deny your involvement when things go wrong. You
are a compulsive liar and exhibit deviant, if not criminal, behavior.

7. Twisted apart, the inside, and then toss the cookie.
You are good at business and take risk that pay off. You take what you want and throw the rest away. You are greedy, selfish, mean, and lack feelings for others. You should be ashamed of yourself. But that's ok, you don't care, you got yours.

8. Just the cookie, not the inside.
You enjoy pain.

9. I just like to lick them, not eat them
Stay away from small furry animals and seek professional medical help - immediately.

10. I don't have a favorite way, I don't like Oreo cookies.
You probably come from a rich family, and like to wear nice things, and go to up-scale restaurants. You are particular and fussy about the things you buy, own, and wear. Things have to be just right. You like to be pampered. You are a prima donna. There's just no pleasing you.

James Bond walks into a bar...

...and sees the most incredibly beautiful woman sitting alone at the bar. So he saunters up, dressed up in his sharp suit and bow tie. Sit down next to her and orders a martini then looks at watch . The lady says,"Is something wrong? Is your date late?"

He replies,"No. I was just given this telepathic watch from HQ and I was testing it out."

The lady replies,"Telepathic watch? How's it work?."

Bond replies,"It allows me to read the mind of anyone next to me. Allow me to demonstrate."

He pushes a button and concentrates then says,"The watch tells me you're not wearing any panties."

The lady replies,"I'm sorry but that's not true. I am wearing panties."

Then Bond taps the watch a few times...

"Damn things an hour fast."

LOL, I guess it's time to beware of trusting watches. I do have one question for you Jaybird, how do you rate someone that twists the oreo apart, puts aside the part with the frosting, dunks the plain half, and then takes the next cookie, twists it apart, puts the part with the frosting aside, and dunks the plain half, I then put the two halves with frosting together, and then dunks that part too. And I always start with double stuffed oreos, and I eat them slowly, savoring all of the chocolately goodness. And yes, the only way to eat oreos is with hot chocolate, with marshmallows, rich hot chocolate, mixed with real milk not water, and with some small pieces of real chocolate added in, just to improve the flavor. I would love to hear what a psychologist would say about this.

Oreo cookies are one of America's most popular types. Two chocolate cookies with a vanilla frosting in between. Also, where in England are you. I visited there briefly back in 1990. I usually listen to BBC world broadcast on my shortwave, and even know to ask for a full pint at the pub. Would be more than happy to have friends in England, I missed it after I left. Even though it was only 17 days that I spent there. Good luck in everything that you do.

Hi Ya, Thanks for that. I'm just trying to think if we have anything similar, but I dont think we do.

I am from a town called High Wycombe (pronounced Wi cum) which is about 30 miles west of London

Trying to see if I ever passed through there. Kind of small set back up the side of a hill? Little pub down near a main road, with a small stone wall? I really wish I had more time there, I think that I enjoyed my days there, far more than I have enjoyed trying to live as an american. I am actually a Native American, I grew up on a reservation in New York, but reservations are considered to be seperate lands, not part of America. I think most americans really have a lot to learn about manners, and other things that I got to see while I was in England. Americans have way too much to learn, and precious little means to learn it. I think I am going to try and find a way to send you some Oreo cookies, I think you would enjoy them. Maybe once I get my life back together, I can arrange for a trip to visit, I would really like a chance to see England again.
