Not a joke but something that I found interesting nonetheless.

A friend sent me this today and I thought I would share with all of you.
There is one Christmas Carol that has always baffled me. Have you ever wondered about THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS? What in the world do leaping lords, French hens, swimming swans, and especially the partridge who won't come out of the pear tree have to do with Christmas?

Today, I found out. From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone during that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics. It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church. Each element in the carol has a code word for a religious
reality, which the children could remember.

The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ.

Two turtledoves were the Old and New Testaments

Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love.

The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.

The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament.

The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation.

Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit: Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy.

The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.

Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit:Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.

The ten lords a-leaping were the Ten Commandments.

The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful disciples.

The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in The Apostles' Creed.

So there is your history for today. This knowledge was shared with me and I found it interesting and enlightening and now I know how that strange song became a Christmas Carol... so pass it on if you wish.

{{{{Puddin}}}} Thats great, your kids sounds special, must get it from Mom :) Am sure the tests will turn out all right, but i know the fasting is a royal pain in the butt!!!! It will be over soon. Good to see you!
(((((((((((((((((((PF)))))))))))))))))) hope this hug finds you well. I have to admit that I do tend to brag a bit, but they are so special to me. I'm sure the tests will go good as well. But this fasting thing is for the birds. This is my third time having this test, so it is really getting old. Looking forward to having lunch tomorrow!!!!
Hope you had a nice day and an even better evening.

(((((((((((((((MARYBEARS))))))))))))))) you are so lucky to have access to that pool.........I bet it feels wonderful. Have you started with all your Christmas preparations yet? I have my tree and decorations up, all the gifts bought but one, but I haven't even started wrapping yet. That is the hardest part, besides spending money that I really can't afford to spend. But to see my kids expressions when they get what they asked for is priceless.

Hope you had a nice day and an even better evening. And I have to agree.........toys are GREAT!!!!!!!

Yes I am lucky to have access to the pool.....I became a member of our life center because the doctors told me that I needed to exercise with my fibro and RA.....and that the pool would be the best thing for it....so I go three days a week...(could go everyday if I had the money to get there).....It is SO RELAXING....plus I get to talk to others who is experiencing the RA and Fibro....so that helps....:)

I have all my christmas gifts bought and wrapped.....I have two that I am waiting on from the mail......I ordered most offline or made them....Then today I was talking to my dad and I realized that I should buy my aunt and uncle something (it is dad's sister...she has no children)....So I will pick something up for them.....As far as decorating...NO I don't have any of it done....I have to clean first.....Hopefully this week....I just can't get the energy to do it...:(

That is great that you have the access and the ppl that you can talk to about the fibro and the RA........talking to someone that shares the same things can be so helpful.

Great job on having the gifts bought and wrapped. I always seem to wait till the last minute to wrap, because they are harder to hide once they have that nice paper on them. My kids......specifically my 16 year old son's curiosity gets the best of him and he can't resist snooping. It just ruins my Christmas when he has snooped. I did my cleaning one day and decorated the next with the help of a friend. If not for their help, it probably wouldn't be done. Hope you can find the energy soon, you do still have 17 days till Christmas.

Have a great night MaryBears.........I'm off to work soon, have to put my client to bed soon. Talk again soon.

Hugs...........Puddin

{{{{{{{Puddin}}}}}}} You should brag! It is wonderful to see how much joy you get from them and I am sure they know it too. I have no children of my own, but love to see th pride and affection dislayed by parents towards their children. They have a special mother, that is for sure!

Ihave had the IVP tests, xrays, fasting and blood drawn so many times~ I truly sympathize. But will be fine and you will have to have yourself a huge lunch lmao... hope this finds you well. I am okay~ tired, but ok.... :)

My Darling,
I went to the door today and the postman delivered a "Partridge in a pear tree." What a thoroughly delightful gift. I couldn't have been more surprised. You're an angel.
With all my love and devotion,
Agnes

Darling,
Today, the postman brought your very sweet gift. Just imagine "Two turtle doves." I'm delighted at your very thoughtful gift. They are adorable and I love you for them.
All my love,
Agnes

Dear Fred,
Oh! Aren't you the extravagant one? Now I really must protest. I don't deserve such generosity as "Three French hens." They are just darling but I must insist, you've been too kind.
Love,
Agnes

Dear Fred,
Today the postman delivered "Four calling birds." Now really, they are beautiful but don't you think enough is enough? You're being too romantic.
Affectionately,
Agnes

Dearest Fred,
What a surprise! The postman just delivered the "Five golden rings"; one for every finger. You're just impossible, but I love it. Frankly, all those birds squawking were beginning to get on my nerves.
All my love,
Agnes

Dear Fred,
I couldn't believe my eyes this morning as I walked out onto the front porch and there were "Six geese a laying" on my front steps. So you're back to the birds again - huh? Those geese are huge. Where will I ever keep them? The neighbors are complaining and I can't sleep through the racket. I love your thoughtfulness, but -
Please Stop!
Cordially,
Agnes

Fred,
What's with you and those fucking birds??? Today I received "Seven swans a swimming." What kind of a goddamn joke is this? These birds shit all over the house and they never stop with that awful goddamn racket. I can't sleep at night and I'm a nervous wreck.
Stop your laughing damn you! It's not funny. Just knock it off with those fucking birds, OK?????
Sincerely,
Agnes

OK Buster,
I think I prefer the birds. What the hell am I going to do with "Eight maids a milking??" It's not enough with all those birds and the 8 maids milking, but they had to bring their goddamn cows! There is shit all over the lawn and I can't even move in my own house. Just lay off me, smartass!!
Agnes

Hey Shithead,
What are you??? Some kind of sadist??? Now I've got "Nine pipers playing" and Christ do they play! They haven't stopped chasing those maids since they've arrived this morning. The cows are getting upset and they're stepping all over the screeching fucking birds. What the hell am I going to do?? The neighbors have already started a petition to have me evicted.
You'll get yours, bastard,
Agnes

Miss Agnes McHolstein

You Rotten Prick,
Who in hell needs "Ten ladies dancing??" I can't imagine why I call these sluts "ladies." They've been balling the pipers all night long. Now the cows can't sleep and all the goddamn racket around here has given them diarrhea. My living room is a river of shit! The Commisioner of Bldgs. has subpoenaed me to give cause why the building should not be condemned!
I'm sicking the police on you, asshole!
One who means it!!!

Listen Fuckhead,
What's with the "Eleven lords a leaping" on those maids and ladies??? Some of these poor broads will never walk again. The pipers ravaged the maids, gang-banged the ladies, and now are committing sodomy on the cows. All 23 birds are dead. They were trampled to death in the orgy. I hope you're satisfied, you rotten vicious bastard!
I hate your guts, dumbshit,
Agnes
