While cleaning a door I found a praying mantis. I haven't seen one in years. It was an immature one, as would be expected this time of the year, so it was only an inch and a half long, the abdomen was not so fat as in the picture and the wings hadn't shown up yet. I picked it up and transfered it to a field nearby where it could hunt and not get squashed by some insectophobe.
Later I encountered a family, from Lou's area by the sounds of their accents. One of their daughters had trisomy-21, that's Down's Syndrome. How they loved that child was immediately apparent.
I smiled to see there were people so much better than me. I don't know how I would handle my feelings if a child of mine had been dealt a short straw like that.
Good day all around.

It's a pity that I don't live closer to you, and that my heart's already taken. I would show you that you're very wrong about being alone the rest of your life.

But I'll take the kiss. I'm crazy, not stupid.
And I'll take as many hugs as you can spare, Abs.
What I really shouldn't do is live so much in the moment.
I don't think much of my past. Too much pain involved.
I don't look much to the future. I got out of the habit when I was a kid. Being told every day in every way you have no future will do that to a person.
But things are still going well with the director, I think. And I can take pleasure in so many things like finding that mantis and hanging out here in AH. So there's hope for me yet.
Thanks all.
