Tonight, Pennsylvania will tell us everything re: Republicans & Trump

Independents voted for Trump. You know why? Because he didn't pander to the middle and water down his message. If you don't understand that, then you're a part of the problem with the Democratic party.

Just like the Republicans on Lit....your manta is to point a finger sand say "You are the problem". My mantra is to ask "What can we do to improve our Country?"

So Pennsylvania Republicans gerrymandered their state so noticeably that the Supreme Court demanded a redraw, and still lost an election with the old map. Sucks to be them.

Yep. Proud day for them.

he's just trying his best to live up to his screen name.

He actually ran as a Republican in doctrine.

He backs Roe v. Wade, opposed Trump’s tax cuts, staunchly defends unions, and was against Obamacare repeal. As usual, you present opinion as fact, and hope others are as misinformed as you are.

Think what you want, but this guy didn't run in a Democrat primary. He ran against Pelosi and the present Democrat leadership. He's a moderate Democrat who will be swept into the shit can by his own party if he actually wins. The Democrat Party is a progressive party that at present is removing moderate democrats like they were a plague. Lamb didn't run against Trump. He ran against gun control. He actually ran as a Republican in doctrine.

now, now. you keep spinning like that and you're going to get dizzy and puke up your gogurt. go sit and watch dora. it'll be nap time soon.

Really? Because I told you what we can do to improve the country and you said "no way dude, you have to wait!".

It doesn't sound like your mantra is what you say it is.

She won the nation by 2.8 million votes, as predicted. She lost the game by 77k votes in 3 counties. Ten million more voted against Tromp than for him so he took the game. It's a funny game, hey? Like gerrymandering, it rewards the vote luzers. How well is that working out?

She lost the election, because she didn't play to the left, and ignored the working class. She ignored the Democratic base, as you're doing.

You're apparently ok with that, and want to repeat the same mistakes.

Next time, the Republicans won't be running as weak of a candidate, since Trump will be a sitting president. You want another 4 years of Trump? Keep pushing your mediocre watered down message and pander to the middle, while ignoring that independents voted overwhelmingly for Trump.

That's because I live in a world that is based in reality. Ideally...I support what you are saying. But the reality is we must do what we can do...and that means you must get 60 votes in the Senate to move any Legislation forward. So we have a choice...get 60 Democratic seats in the Senate (not happening)...or figure out how to get 60 votes to work together. Your view is a non-starter. So that leaves only my view...find a way to work with the middle. Instead of sitting back w 4 fingers up my ass trying to figure out how to get my thumb in...like you...I support taking less...because even less is better than doing nothing.

No...she lost because the "left" were vindictive. I won't vote for her at all. Because she isn't Bernie. How did that work out? Stupid people get what they deserve. I don't vote "ideals" for President. I vote for what can win across the total electorate. Changes in "ideals" come from the bottom up, not the top down.

So which is it, do you want to ask me: "What can we do to improve our Country?" or do you live in a "world that is based on reality"?

The Democratic base isn't going to get fired up on "we MUST get 60 votes in the senate!".

Why should we get 60 votes in the senate, if the Democrats aren't willing to stand up for the poor, the downtrodden, and the working class and do what's right for once?

If the Democrats won't get a backbone and stand for something, then they're not going to win. This is the plain truth.

Keep telling me that doing what's right is a "non-starter". It's sure to get the Democrats a lot of votes in November.

You run a mediocre candidate who rigs the primaries, and that's what you get. Blame Clinton for her loss, not anyone else.

You're exactly right, change comes from the bottom up. The bottom wants single payer health care, by a huge margin. You want to tell them "wait for what you need".

Cool. Keep pretending and pandering to minority voters and watch them flip Republican really fast.

Read this again....you can't have it both ways. You can't have a policy based on far left liberal ideas and still attract the independent votes. Impossible. I am unwilling to put out a nominee that can't win.

Conor Lamb won because he ISN'T a Democrat that has the policies you support. He won because he is a more moderate. End of story.

Single payer health care is what the ENTIRE INDUSTRIALIZED FIRST WORLD has.

It's not a "far left liberal idea". It's basic common sense.

Conor Lamb won by about 1000 votes in a district where Democrats have 70,000 more voters than Republicans.

If that doesn't mean something to you, then you're not paying attention to the writing on the wall.

They aren't the minority. They are the majority...and that is what you have no clue about. Come to the flip states and talk to people. They will not support your type of candidate. Won't happen. This is reality. You cannot win a presidential election by only winning 3 states.

You want to win Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania? You run a candidate that will listen to the needs of the working class, working poor, and run on a platform that addresses their needs, and right now that's health care, the opium crisis and job creation. They also don't want gun control.

Those are the states that win presidential elections. That's a cold, hard fact.

How did Clinton fare in those states?

Yes it is...and I 100% support it...but the reality (try living in the real world)...is there is zero chance to get it to happen in one piece of legislation. Be smart. If you want a single-payer solution...start small. Have a plan where ALL children are covered until the age of 25. Work out the issues. Then add the old folks. Again, work out the issues. Then add the middle

What matters, is that Penn 18 voted for plus 20 for Trump. What matters is that this district wasn't EVEN supposed to be a close vote. What matters is that historically, this district votes Republican. In fact, they have voted Republican since 2003...only the last 15 years https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pennsylvania's_18th_congressional_district

Look at the column Congressional House. See the "red" color? What does that mean? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_party_strength_in_Pennsylvania

EXACTLY RIGHT...and those states will not vote for a single payer system.

Bullshit.

What are you going to give them to fix the health care crisis if not single payer?

They'll vote for it by overwhelming margins.

What do YOU think they're going to vote for? False promises of something done down the road?

The fact that a district with 70,000 more Democrats than Republicans votes historically Republican showcases a problem with the Democrats not being able to motivate their own base.

Why do YOU think that is?

I know why. Because the Democrats keep pandering and playing to the middle, and how do the Independents vote? They went Trump last time because the other candidate played to the middle.

No...LOOK at the reality. Look at who they have representing them. Majority is Republican. You need to have them change their representation first. Sorry. You will not get a Republican to vote for it. Never happen. And these states are not changing their representation. So that means you must work with what the reality is.

Keep on saying it, and I'm sure you'll eventually believe it yourself. The truth is that most american's want single payer, and the Democrats aren't even willing to stand up to the health care industry, because they're in their pockets. That's the actual problem, and you buy the BS that they're peddling.
