Trump

Yes, well, there's about a zero chance of a third or fourth party forming now taking a state. Those who think otherwise are welcome to spin their wheels ineffectually. God knows they are good with doing that on this forum.

I'm not going to slit my wrists and get all ranty and name calling on Literatica even if they do (hear that, BotanyBaby? :D)

I find it highly improbable sure, but not utterly impossible. They don't even need to win that many states. If somehow they snag Ohio and Florida that's all they would need.

How trolly are those states?

PS: A troll vote in this case is effectively a vote for Trump.

Jan Brewer calls for fewer female candidates: ‘This woman thing has gotten way out of control

Former Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R) argued on Sunday that too much emphasis has been placed on electing female candidates.

During a discussion on CNN about presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s possible running mates, host Jake Tapper asked Brewer if she would be interested in the job.

“Who made up that list? They didn’t put me on there,” Brewer complained. “Of course, I would be — I would be willing to serve in any capacity that I could be of help with Donald on.”

“Do you think he needs to pick a woman?” Tapper wondered. “Given how bad his numbers are with women.”

“I don’t necessarily think you need to pick a woman,” Brewer insisted. “You know, this woman thing has gotten way out of control I believe.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) on Sunday said that she is ready to serve as Donald Trump’s vice presidential running mate, but she worried about being a “burden” to the presumptive nominee.

“I think I’m pretty much as vetted as anybody in the country could be vetted,” Palin told CNN’s Jake Tapper. “I think there are so many other great people out there in American that could serve in this position.”

“I think if somebody wanted to choose me, they already know who I am, what I stand for,” she added. “They wouldn’t be in for any surprises.”

But Palin acknowledged that she also came with baggage.

“I want to help and not hurt, and I am such a realist that I realize there are a whole lot of people out there who say, ‘Anybody but Palin,'” the former VP nominee admitted. “I wouldn’t want to be a burden on the ticket and I recognize that in many, many eyes, I would be that burden.”

Trump says taxes for the wealthy should go up

Donald Trump said on Sunday that taxes for the wealthy should go up but that his tax plans would likely be renegotiated with Congress should he win the U.S. presidency.

“For the wealthy I think frankly it is going to go up and, you know what, it really should go up,” the presumptive Republican presidential nominee told NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Trump said that he sees his current tax plans, which would reduce taxes for the middle class and businesses and increase those for the wealthy, as a negotiating “floor” that may change in dealings with Congress.

However, he added, “when it comes time to negotiate, I feel less concerned with the rich than I do with the middle class.”

This women thing is totally out of control. Of the last 10 elections every one of them has been two women. When do men get a shot? Someone call LJ!

He got the candidacy by saying what the Republican voters wanted to hear. Now he will say what the middle class want to hear. Populous politician through and through. If only 66% vote, simply put,you only need 34% to win.

He's been quoted as against NAFTA. So I am assuming he should eventually start talking getting manufacturing jobs back by tariffs. Not sure if the multi-bankruptcy mogul has the smarts to realize that would not work in the globalized economy. Even if the EU collapsed and a an anti-free trader got in the White House, the Free Traders will win out.

Republican Convention Devolves into WWE Bout as Trump Threatens Ryan’s Role as Chairman

Sean Hannity wanted Paul Ryan replaced as Speaker of the House for his failure to endorse Donald Trump. While he is unlikely to see that wish fulfilled, he is likely thrilled at the news that Trump, while not exactly calling on Ryan to step down as chairman of the Republican Convention, said there could be “consequences.”

Right now, as the smack talk flies fast and furious, the two men sound more like wrestling superstars sparring verbally before the big match than they do the leaders of their party. In a WWE ring, personalities are always bigger than issues, and these men just don’t like each other.

As Speaker of the House, Ryan is tasked with serving as Chairman of the 2016 Republican Convention, something he says he didn’t know when he took the job as Speaker. It has been a rude awakening, as reality tends to be for Republicans these days.

Trump has already threatened, “I think you’d have riots,” if anyone contests his nomination, which is his way of telling his supporters to riot if the establishment contests his nomination.

Ryan’s answer was that, “Nobody should say such things. To even address or hint (about) violence is unacceptable.”

How would a "President Trump" react to Congress saying "Fuck NO!" to his agenda? It wouldn't be pretty.

Yes, that's why I've been posting that Trump's best move, to preserve his self-image, is now to walk away, saying he would have been president if the politicians hadn't done what he accused them of doing that brought him into the race to begin with. He'd live as a folk hero for many more than he would manage to keep when a presidency under him inevitably fell apart and made more realize what an empty windbag he is.

Can you imagine the purges he will enact against the GoP?! I doubt he is one to forgive his political enemies. Speak against him and you political days are being spent in the wilderness. Wonder how he will treat the civil service?

Watching the news this evening, this Repub campaign is quickly becoming a clown posse of unimaginable absurdity. Sarah Palin now believes she can take down the Speaker of the House. This is getting fun.

No, because I don't think he can pull them off if those in the GOP take three minutes to assess reality. I don't see why Ryan isn't just thumbing his nose at him (and Palin) anyway. Even if he got Cantored, he'd be in a better political condition down the road than if he knuckled under to Trump.

Yeah, I think that's stupid. But I can see the connection to where the Republican party is now. It's been stupid for a good long time.

Perhaps the greatest stupidity is giving any credence to Trump's boast of bringing so much new blood into the party. They aren't there for the party; they're there for Trump and will leave with him. (Same thing for Sanders and the Democratic Party.)

Rachel Maddow: Trump is so unpopular voters like him less than lice — by nearly 30 points

Really, less than Lice? Lice are pretty uncomfortable, but okay, if you say so.

Never mind Hillary Clinton; as MSNBC host Rachel Maddow reported on Monday, Donald Trump is viewed more negatively than lice — by 26 points. And it got worse.

“Not to nitpick, but this new national polling also finds that Mr. Trump is viewed less favorably than not just lice, but also traffic jams; used car salesmen; hipsters; the DMV; jury duty; the band Nickelback; and also root canals,” she said.

Maddow explained that she obtained the survey results from Public Policy Polling (PPP) late in the day, and assured her viewers that the poll was legitimate.

“I am not making this up to entertain you,” she said. “Even though I am sometimes tempted to do things like that, this is real.”

On the bright side for Trump, Maddow pointed out that the presumptive Republican front-runner was polling better than cockroaches and hemorrhoids — albeit by less than 10 points in either case. Among female voters, though, even that polling turned negative.

“Women voters actually prefer both cockroaches and hemorrhoids to Donald Trump,” she noted. “Weird. Turns out there’s a gender split on those particular issues.”

The fact that former Governor Jan Brewer, who also endorsed Trump, now thinks that women have "gone too far" is......rich. A prime example of Republican idiocy in high places.

Trump: Jeff Bezos using The Washington Post to prevent Amazon from getting taxed

Damn Donald that's anti-establishment! Going after Amazon and for higher taxes, maybe you could add big oil?

“This (Washington Post) is owned as a toy by Jeff Bezos, who controls Amazon. Amazon is getting away with murder tax-wise. He’s using the Washington Post for power so that the politicians in Washington don’t tax Amazon like they should be taxed,” Trump said.

“He’s using the Washington Post … for political purposes to save Amazon in terms of taxes and in terms of antitrust,” Trump said.

“He thinks I’ll go after him for antitrust. Because he’s got a huge antitrust problem because he’s controlling so much, Amazon is controlling so much of what they are doing,” Trump said.

Hope he didn't step on his crank?

Dick Cheney just flipped his opinion of Donald Trump

One,Two Three, Left, Right! Lockstepping Rethuglicans.

In February, Cheney slammed Trump for sounding like a “liberal Democrat” on the issue of the Bush administration’s response to 9/11 and the terms for entering into the war in Iraq.

Speaking to Fox News’ Bret Baier at the time, Cheney said “he sounds like a liberal Democrat to me, Bret. He’s wrong, and he’s I think, deliberately promoting those views in order to advance his political interests,” adding “the question of WMD charge that the administration lied, that was thoroughly investigated by the Robb-Silberman Commission. They found absolutely no evidence whatsoever to support that.”

Lying liars support liars lies!
