What’s your most controversial opinion?

I’m sure you’re right. We probably could talk for days about bands. I won’t spam you with all kinds of music trivia but will mention something that might interest you.

Do you remember the “Old and In the Way” record with Jerry Garcia on banjo? It came out in the 70s and opened my ears up to bluegrass music. The reason I thought of that is because you mentioned your brother learning The Dire Wolf. A few years ago I came across an incredible bluegrass guitar player named Molly Tuttle. She’s a gifted guitarist as well as songwriter and singer, and she does a really nice version of that song. Nice kid too!

She grew up in California and was taught to play by her dad who is a well known bluegrass instrument teacher. Molly live in Nashville and has jammed with Bob Weir and Dead & Co. and ton of great artists, including killer flat picker Billy Strings.

Here’s Molly playing Dire Wolf. She does a beautiful version on the Stone’s “She’s a Rainbow” as well. It’s on YouTube.

^^wow — i can’t believe i’m just hearing this now…
this is so cool!
i’ve not heard this version before.
it’s like there’s so many random facts out there about the dead that you could just learn one a
day every day for your whole life

And I really like Nickel Creek when it comes to Bluegrass… I’ve got some banjo heavy Americana/country/folk/Texas swing in my playlist at all times

brandi carlile is currently one of my absolute
favorites —
I got to see her play lives in 2023 at the Gorge in Washington with Joni Mitchell and it was
a life alteringly good concert.

Freedom of speech does NOT entitle you from freedom from consequences!!

That really only applies to slander, I am thinking more to do with the bs that is plastered all over social media that halfwits don't have the capacity to verify before re-posting.
