What Are You Nosey About Today?? šŸ¦

I'm Nosey about what makes you subscribe to a thread and what makes you unsubscribe? How many threads are you subbed to?

If it were not for the subscribe feature, there would be no way I would keep up with anything since things can move quickly at times. I am excellent at putting things on subcribe...like the image threads I post on...but I am terrible at doing any subscribe maintenance until I just realize a thread has been dead for ages.

I'm honestly surprised at the folks who don't subscribe
I totally understand the reasoning but I'd be so lost without my list most times.

I need to unsub from a lot of threads I never participate in anymore or are closed. I think i see some fall cleaning in my future.

I actually deleted six right away after looking at my list...lol

I never subscribe. I know where to find the ones I’m interested in, and I don’t want to be hit with alerts

Am I the only one who gets automatically subscribed to a thread when I comment in it? I don't get any alerts though, they just show up in my User CP section... (not that I want alerts)

I have five pages of subscribed threads and I just spent some time going down memory lane.

The OG Litties
JamesLewis šŸ’”
A time without Pmann
Too many PDribble threads
An obvious crush (not Pmann)
Stupid photo threads that made me laugh out loud.

I kinda want to resurrect some of the good ones. But also respect that they ended when they did.

What a night!

This is exactly why I've kept mine too.

Just checked . . . 6 pages, 236 subscribed threads. Admittedly, I need to do some housecleaning.

The oldest one in my list was was last posted in in 2012, It was a birthday thread started for me by ElizaW who doesn't come around too much anymore. If I get nostalgic for the old days, I can easily find and peruse these old threads to see who my best friends at the time were and remember them by their messages. A lot of the oldest threads in my folder are birthday threads - either started for me, or ones I started for others.

I've got Littie threads saved from back in the day when I was a lot more involved here, I've got threads begun by friends with whom I posted a lot, threads by friends who have passed away and threads by friends who no longer come around. If they do return and post in their old threads, it will show up.

I do have the auto-subscribe feature checked, that way I don't need to try to look past all the word game threads and such to find what I'm interested in. Sometimes I miss new threads when they start because I'm not looking at the main PG list, but eventually I catch on. It's efficient. It works best for me.

I’m nosey about integrity.

We all like to think we have it, but integrity is often misunderstood. To me integrity is living by your own moral principles and not allowing others to shape or compromise them.

What does having integrity mean to you?

Same thing for me.
The one main thing that my father was adamant about. That whatever I choose to do in life. The choices I made, mistakes, stupid things etc., to please preserve my integrity because that was the most precious. At least that's what he thought and inculcated in me. And for that I am grateful.

Have I always lived by it? I would love to say yes, but it's not true. There have been times when I have slipped and fall into temptations. But I try to live by it and always keep it in mind.

This ā¤ļø

My father was the same, instilled into me from a young age to have that moral compass and to live a life in accordance with your own values. Not to be swayed by others. Being honest and true to myself, being respectful of others, holding myself accountable and owning my mistakes. And helping others, not for any self gain.

Have I always been, nope but I try my best to be the best I can be.

We read this at the start of every meeting of the 12-step meeting i go to.

There is one thing more than anything that will defeat us in our recovery; this is an attitude of indifference or intolerance towards spiritual principles. Three of these that are indispensable are honesty, open-mindedness and willingness. With these, we are well on our way.

Integrity is also a spiritual principle. It happens when we start walking the walk and not talking the talk concerning implementing honesty, open-mindedness and willingness in our lives. I think of it as a gift from doing the next right thing spiritually.

To me, having integrity implies abiding by a fixed set of morals, being honest, and keeping your word.

Consistency is not necessarily a virtue, however, and people have done appalling things to preserve their own integrity since time immemorial.

As a infosec practitioner, we use the CIA triad all the time. I think the technical definition of integrity is a pretty good proxy for it's general definition. Can you trust that the source of information is authentic and undoctored?

I think the challenge with humans is we've defined integrity as adherence towards one's own morals, however morals aren't universal. I view integrity in people as simply being honest and caring in your every day interactions with people in a truly authentic way.

My oldest is from 2008. ;)

Oh, what a tangled web . . . . If loved ones and others in my offline life knew a fraction of what I've done online, they'd say I have zero morals or integrity. On the flip side, I think that people in my online world would say that I have high morals and integrity. It's all relative to the space I'm occupying.

My wife, kids and associates would for the most part be very surprised and shocked at the personal compromises I've made, the vows I've broken and questionable decisions I've made. Of course, I can rationalize it all for myself. Whether others would agree with those rationalizations is another story. Now, other than my online and related sexual indiscretions go, I feel my integrity is well regarded and is something I am constantly working to uphold.

Over my years here, I have tried to be honest about my intentions and acted by a golden rule of sorts. There have been mistakes made and lessons learned from those mistakes, of course, but overall a sense of integrity has served me well. The last couple years here, I've been 'with' only one other Litster and I'm happy to say that it's worked well for both of us.

It can be a personal struggle at times and in both spaces trying to do the right things and to be true to some principles. It's worth it though in the end.

I can relate to this.
