These are another two words that I think should be removed from the English language along with slut. But we can’t because then we would lose films like Weird Science and Freaky Friday.

To me they are words to describe outside the norm but what is the norm?

Weird = odd/strange - like somebody who shaves half of their head, wear odd shoes, eat baked beans out of the can, etc.

Freaky = creepy - like that person who follows you around but never really says anything, or the one that suddenly starts yelling for no reason (and I don’t mean people with a medical condition), the one who goes through your laundry basket to get at your dirty knickers

I’d be keen to see questions related to sexual fluidity, general fidelity, lit fidelity, how views have changed on a sliding scale not a long answer form. Who still reads the stories. What categories they read if they do. How many lovers people have had, real and Lit, what gender the lovers identify as…. That sort of thing. Has your marriage survived Lit? That sort of thing.

This got me thinking, I've talked to a lot of people in my time here and the topic of what introduced them to Lit always comes up. About 95-98% of them say they stumbled across the stories or a friend introduced them to a story here. The other 2-5% either directly ran across a forum link or had a partner at the time show them the forums. I also find of at least the people I've talked to while most said they do still read the stories here it's a lot less frequent then when they first started here. Some saying they only focus on a few particular writers or genres after finding the stories that really do it for them. Most that I talk to seem to spend more of their time here on the forum though as they've found friends and made connections here.

Again this is just a small sampling based on the people I've interacted with but there definitely seems to be some consistent patterns to people's time here on Lit. So I'd say yes the stories are definitely a gateway drug and the forums or rather the people on them are what keep people addicted to Lit.
