My best friend since I was 4 has been in an abusive marriage for 14 yrs. She would calling me often crying and not knowing what to do. I kept telling her to leave him or she was going to end up as a Lifetime movie. A year and a half ago, he beat her up in front of their kids and their friends. She finally filed for divorce. It’s been dragging on and on. She messaged me tonight that she thinks it’s finally over. I think I’m so fucking proud of her!

I hope she's getting some counseling to help her through this. It's hard to do, I still have nightmares whenever I get "stressed".

That’s amazing. Glad she got out.

I'll echo Fara's sentiment. I've seen some of the absolute worst of that mess and it just isn't something you can not be disturbed by.

let us hope he is not gonna be after her when all is said and
done. it take ' us ' being disturbed by something to make changes to it. be it standing up for the weak, in some manner. or pushing for laws that will.
Shi, if i may say this. if and when you talk to her again. please please ask her to learn how to defend herself and her children.

Today is the Feast of Sant’Ambrogio, the Patron Saint of Milan. It is also the inaugural evening of the opera season of La Scala Opera House, which is an extremely popular cultural event. I am happy to learn that the opening night is still going on tonight, albeit without the public. But they are showing it live on TV.
