What was the best present you got this year?

Congrats, rgraham!

My husband got me a lovely wine colored embroidered Japanese silk nigtgown and matching robe. Nothing feels as sexy and sensual as silk clinging to your bare skin.

But then, my son got me the 5th book of the Dark Tower series. I was supposed to have gotten that from my husband last year, but somehow I didn't. It was worth waiting a year for. Yeah, I know I'm behind. the 7th and last is out now.

Brand new Tommy Hilfiger USA Ski Team winter coat. I needed a replacement for the old winter coat with a deep hood.

You're not stud enough for her?

My wife wanted to know why I was laughing, saw your post and is now rolling on the bed laughing herself sick.

Hmmmmmm, you know. They make these stud finders, why don't they make,,,, oh never mind.

Cat
The Marine Feline

(Yep I'm trying to stay out of trouble for at least an hour here.)

So far I'd say it was the wireless mouse I got at Pirate Christmas a week ago. But there is one gift I haven't recieved yet. It will be here soon and I have a feeling it is one I will cherish for the rest of my life.

It's a toss up between the guitar and the red winter jacket.
And the little purse that says "N is for Naughty."
And the floor mat that has the character Stewie from 'Family Guy' on it, that says, "I'm a foul, dirty little boy!"

:D :D :D

"Concert for George" - a great CD - also got the video - I admit I'm a Beatles freak.

America (the book) - truly funny - and accurate in a sick kinda way

These books are excellent. I've finished them all, and it's killing me not to say more.... :(

Is that the R Crumb one? A classic, if so. I loved the one-pager, the landscape at the corner of the country road, which gradually grows streetcars, parking lots, car dealerships, urban decay. All the wires in the sky proliferating, and the little house undergoing transformation to a corner store, a gas station, an empty lot. All with no words in that superb understated ink line style of his.

No, Cantdog, it's The Daily Show with John Stewart's version. For those of us who admire Amicus it had an appropriate quote on the back of the book (a fake endorsement):
This is similar to my works in that anyone who reads it is sure to be an asshole for at least a month afterward - Ayn Rand

I don't think Amicus has ever gotten over Ayn Rand.

Ah.

I saw that one. Don't own it, though. Glad to have an endorsement. (Poor ami.)

~ Waking up cuddled next to a really great friend who I adore. Why can't it be Christmas all over again? lol

~ New Cellphone

~ Jewellery Box

~ A good bottle of wine

~ A DVD I have been trying to find (Thank you!)

~ Hugs from some friends who I love like no others :D

A month? Why, in my case, it was better than a year, and my sister was even worse...

A book of Spanish erotic poetry of the 1500s. I think it's my family's way of telling me that they know. :D

I can't say.

but I did get the most absoloutley beautiful scarf from my sister. I'll have to take a pic, it's so gorgeous.

I got the most beautiful necklace from my youngest daughter. She chose it and everything! Apparently, when she saw it, she said, "I want to get that for Mummy, it's really pretty." It is very pretty. It's not gold or silver, or anything like that, it's just costume jewellery, but that doesn't matter! She chose it, for me.

The best part was when I put it on. She kept smiling at me and saying, "It's really pretty, isn't it, Mummy? It really suits you!" She was so pleased with herself, because I loved it so much. In fact, when I opened it, I cried, daft bugger that I am.

That and the smiles from my kids all day long were my best presents. :)

I just opened a package from a woman that I love more than anything in the world.

Inside was a handwritten note expressing her love and hopes for the coming year. And a hand crocheted American Flag afghan that I am warmly wraped in right this moment. I know I will cherish this gift for the rest of my days and I will never sleep without it.

Thank you, Baby. You don't know just how much this means to me.  :rose:

Oh, there was also a single piece of lingerie that already has me dreaming of nights spent wrapped in that afghan with with that wonderful woman.

My greatest present was not for Christmas but for my B-day. It was the warm wishes of my freinds here on a thread. Thank you guys, you are the greatest :)

I do believe the whole point of that, is that WE think YOU are the greatest.
