What's the best country?

I dug New Zealand, and I dug the Grand Duchy when I was there.

Luxembourg. What a place. Sweden was cool too, and Switzerland if it would get over itself a little more.

If I get to just laze about and bask in the pure, perfect loveliness of a spot on earth, then I would pick Halong Bay, Vietnam.

But if I have to earn a living and be bound by the laws of the land, then I would pick the U.S., hands down. It is huge and narrow and ugly and beautiful and disturbingly white at times, but for me and my family, it has always represented hope.

That might be naïve, but it's what is. ;)

Luck to all,

Yui ^_^

I think that if I were offered the choice to stay in the US or move to some other country, I would choose the US. Maybe not the exact location where I am, but the same country. Nothing against Canada but it is too cold there. I was raised in Wisconsin and have no intention of going back there permanently because of the weather and Canada would be no better. I don't know enough about other English speaking nations to make them my chjoice so I would choose to stay here.:D

Anyone who gets that reference will have to be a Lit veteran.

Pass me my walking frame, I'm sighing right along side you dear. (But I have to say his cactus av was a doozie. ;) )

As for the best country. I'd have to say my own. It's beautiful, wild black sand west coast beaches, calm balmy white sand east coast, mountain ranges, waterfalls, rapids, volcanoes, native bush, open spaces,... *sigh* just beautiful.

And yes, the South Island is my pick too. The natural beauty there surpasses belief.

From what I understand Banff, Canada has similarities with New Zealand's landscape.

But then, there is beauty in every part of the world, you just need to learn how to find it.

As for living... well, it's a free speaking country, with opportunities for education and work. There are bugbears with health and political issues, but then most countries have those problems also.

So, yes, I'd say New Zealand is the best place in the world. That's about the only reason I'm still here.

Greenland, cos that's where Father Christmas lives. :)

aCtually, I think Father Christmas lives in Canada as I think the North Pole resides in Canadian territory or something.

Canada.

We have a good economy and more importantly we make some effort to spread it around.

Your worth isn't determined by the size of your bank account.

Our educational system is good and there are enough supports that anyone can get a decent education regardless of their family's wealth.

Our medical system is for everybody. If you're sick, you can get help.

We support our cultural institutions.

We have our problems, but I would rather live here than anywhere else. It's my home.

If I lived in the States I would almost certainly be dead.

Canada. Because of everything he said. :)

Oh and by the way, I demand that you use the real name for New Zealand which of course is Middle-Earth.

Snoopy

Middle Earth, New Zealand, Aotearoa (Maori name for NZ meaning 'land of the long white cloud')...

It all comes down to the same thing.

:) Beautiful.
