When I Was a Kid....

Yes, YOU!

WIWAK, whenever I said "Who", my mother would say "Your feet don't fit no limb."

*that's an owl reference for the stupid joke impaired*

I'm not the only one who is a flirty tease...;):rose:

WIWAK I hated naps...now I relish them

I miss when I was a kid.... cause I didn't have to pay bills, wake up daily to go to work, and deal with all the adult stuff I gotta deal with now....
But when I was a kid I sure wanted to grow up quick

BOY If I ONLY KNEW

WIWAK Football was played in outdoor stadiums with real grass until the first astroturf came in

WIWAK My dad and I went to a Greycup game on a rainy day with astroturf and it was crazy watching the players slipping on the flooded field

WIWAK ther were no Dollar Trees because a dollar was still a good amount of money!

WIWAK my biggest dream was to have a canvas bag with ESPRIT written on the side.

WIWAK I thought she and I would be perfect together because we had the same birthday...

WIWAK there was bullying but don't recall anyone committing suicide...have we become that fragile as a society?

WIWAK .... My mom used to turn the stove on and open the door on bitter cold winter mornings to make the kitchen toasty warm while we had breakfast. :D

WIWAK my room, a north facing corner room in an old house, was freaking freezing every night. I learned to love to sleep in cold temps and to like lots of blankets.

Why do my kids whine at me about a house that is a toasty 68F pretty much everywhere. PUT ON A FUCKING SWEATER and KWITCHERBITCHEN

WIWAK I could air guitar in the styles of Pete Townshend, Angus Young, and of course Eddie Van Halen. I could also do the stage "performance" of Ozzy Ozbourne and David Lee Roth.

Like Like Like Like... I am exactly the same, if yer cold, maybe you shouldn't be running around in just boxers...

WIWAK our house was the safe haven for all my friends.

LMAO...well, now if you were running around in just your underwear in my house, I might spend the money to turn the heat up for you.

WIWAK -- My cousin and I sat at the Thanksgiving Dinner Table one year (we were 8) and stuffed ourselves with at least 8 servings each of biscuits, gravy, and mashed potatoes. It took like an hour but the silly bitch challenged me. God, I love her and god damned that was a fantastic Thanksgiving.

WIWAK, My sister and I would ride our bikes all around the neighborhood on Thanksgiving morning, smelling all the smells and deciding whose house we would stop into for a pre-Thanksgiving-dinner snack :)

Here, here! Yay!

WIWAK we used to help carry (and sometimes split and stack) firewood when we visited my grandmother.

WIWAK my grandmother always had a lemon meringue pie when I visited. ALWAYS

WIWAK my grandmother told stories about her family -- about her aunt who used to wear knickers and smoke a pipe, about being relocated during the war, about the whole community having to relocate when the dam was built, etc.

WIWAK the men would go hunting Thanksgiving morning.

WIW an infant, my grandfather died in my father's arms the day before Thanksgiving, because he was salting down the roads along the river by himself so we could drive there safely.

This must be such a bittersweet holiday for you, NPA. I hope you have fond memories of your grandfather, and that you have a peaceful Thanksgiving.
