WIWAK I hated pecan and punkin pie...still do...I try them every year, but they don't get any better.

when i was a kid summer was my favorite season.

staying out late, catching fireflies, playing video games for hours with my brother, running around with the kids on the block all day, eating popsicles.. ahh, childhood.

WIWAK It was all about the old dirt roads, the bonfire at night, watching the stars come out running barefoot by the pond and chasing snakes, frogs and toads with not a care in the world for current events.

WIWAK today started the countdown to Christmas and lots of days off from school.

WIWAK I hated days like this because I had to rake leaves or pinestraw.

WIWAK my family played poker after we cleared the dinner table instead of watching football. I now have that dinner table.

WIWAK my dad built a walkout basement and we had this big dirt pile out in the back yard. My brothers and I dug a hole at the top of it...filled it with water.....would place action figures around the hole....and use them for target practice with a BB gun

WIWAK, I remember watching Christmas specials on tv: The Lennon Sisters, Dean Martin (and the Golddiggers!), and Bing Crosby, of course. I remember when Bing Crosby and David Bowie got together on one of those specials to perform "Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy". I still love that arrangement.

WIWAK we put up the Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving...a tradition that I am happy continue with my boys!

WIWAK .... I used to lie on the floor underneath the Christmas tree and look up into the tree. It was quite magical with the yummy smells of cinnamon and pine the twinkling colored lights.

Oh my gosh! That is one of my favorite memories as a kid. Our old tree as a kid was artificial. It had branches that hinged from a few feet off the ground and formed a little hollow cone inside the tree. I used to crawl under and look up through the tree for hours.
