When I Was a Kid....

WIWAK, my brother and I used to watch Speed Racer...years later, our mother told us that when listening to that cartoon from another room, all she could hear was grunting and oooh-ing and aaahh-ing...she thought it sounded like a Japanese porn soundtrack!

WIWAK my mom would make "magic" ginger brew and honey to sip and make me feel better faster , I make the "magic" brew when I'm sick but I miss my mom :(

WIWaK Vernor's Ginger Ale was my favorite drink. Actually, Ginger Ale is still my favorite.

A recipe for magic ginger brew and honey would be interesting.

WIWAK this time of year always met 15 days of Bond...they should really bring that back.

wiwak we were not allowed to have candy unless we MADE it. My parents wee very strict about this, as an adult there is always candy around :)

WIWAK I could hit all the notes of O Holy Night...now not even close...

WIWAK players stayed with their teams for their whole careers. That's why I have more respect for players like Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripken, Jr. than I do for A-Rod and now Albert Pujols.

WIWAK, there was no such thing as The Winter Classic ice hockey game, and if there had been, tickets wouldn't have STARTED at $400.00.

Finally in my own backyard, and I can't rationalize spending that much money to go see it in person. Bastards!

WIWAK It never occurred to me a "Santa dress" could look so inviting :D

...we had to walk three miles uphill through four-foot high snow drifts to get to school. We didn't GET snow days...

It wasn't quite three miles. But it was uphill both ways in snow up past the waist. Which is true.

Of course, our house and the school were on top of different hills and I was a lot shorter.

WIWAK I never thought I'd find a remix of Speed Racer sound bites that sounds like a sound track from a Porn movie. *Note to self find casseette and covert to MP3 to share*

WIWAK a text message was the girl next to me in class sending me a note asking if I liked her.

WISAK a video game was changing the channel on the tv on my brother or sister

Yeah, I was a little more concerned that my mother knew what a Japanese porn soundtrack sounded like... :p

WIWAK christmas parties had cookies and punch...now it has an open bar...

WIWAK sports was about the love of the game...not the love of the salary.

WIWAK I was always excited to take a trip to NYC. Funny thing is, I still am. Somethings never change.:)

WIWAK I thought it was really to dig through the earth and end up in China...
