If you voted for Trump, you support him & you own him forever. Fuck your "safe space"

No, you are, if you pay your taxes.

Being forced by authoritarian shits like yourself to provide commodities to others who are less motivated isn't support of a welfare state.

It is the pro welfare/wealth redistribution folks are the ones who keep Wal Marts work force subsidized.

Shit wouldn't be an option if we had stuck to liberal ideals instead of socialist ones. ;)

Your entire theory doesn't wash. The Gov made a special exception that doesn't comport with ANY other private industry. Comparisons to police and Fire Depts don't match because those aren't "private industries".

Yet here we are, using taxpayer money to support security guards for the airlines. Again, why?

Because it works.

Because it works.

Lol.

NO, it doesn't. TSA routinely fails the testing for security breaches.

The results of the tests showed that the TSA screeners failed to detect weapons, drugs, and explosives almost 80 percent of the time. While the exact failure rate is classified, multiple sources indicate it is greater than 70 percent.

The Department of Homeland Security Inspector General carries out “Red Team” tests periodically to check the competence of the TSA’s ability to detect and stop fake weapons from getting through airport security. In 2015, the TSA failed these tests by an even larger margin—95 percent.

Sadly, these results are not surprising. The TSA has a history of failing to uphold basic security standards.

Are you're saying that they should have just given Trump what he wanted because we'd be ahead of the game by a billion or so?

Only an idiot would think that's a good idea.

However... 5.7 is what cheetolini wants and it's a small portion of what it will cost to build, to steal the land for it, to man it and maintain it.

How you limpdicks can't find an issue with the president holding the government hostage like that is incredible.

... (BTW, before you go getting your panties in a bunch and try to argue something that isn't true - the police have NO OBLIGATION to protect you. Nor does the Fire Dept. The police can stand there and watch you get murdered and there is no requirement they do anything. The FD can watch your house burn and you have NO RECOURSE because there is no requirement they do ANYTHING. Thus "the police" aren't equivalent.)

No one is required to do anything. Period. That goes for everyone. You can choose to do anything you want or nothing at all. But you aren't immune to the potential consequences of your actions or inaction. Your police officer and firefighter can stand around all they want. They can take a nap while it is going on if they want. Roast marshmallows even.

And that police officer and fireman have NO RECOURSE after all appeals are exhausted if their supervisor decides to enforce policies that are violated in the course of their actions/inaction.

Unfortunately there have been a few noteworthy cases where FDs did just that,. Nothing. And it was the Chiefs that made the decision due to their own in-house policies of not providing services to homes that did not pay their dues or memberships. Cases where they responded to the scene with all the necessary equipment and personnel, then said ... No.

Democrats and Republicans try to outlaw future government shutdowns after Trump backs down over wall funding

https://www.yahoo.com/news/democrats-republicans-try-outlaw-future-163155053.html

The government shutdown cost the US economy at least $6B, a higher price than the border wall: S&P

What an idiotic waste of money..
let's hope they get that done. regular people should not have to suffer such awful inconveniences (and more than mere inconveniences!) for the sake of politicians, much less for the sake of one man holding the government hostage

it should be a clearly bipartisan agreement - the reps have seen the writing on the wall that if this president can call for shutdowns this way and enact 'crisis' funding against the will of an opposing party then they know a future president (of another party) can do the same thing and fuck up the plans of the republican party. seems like there's common ground to be found right there.

I recall an early experiment in a private fire department. Crassus organized it in Rome, which being a very dense-packed city was always vulnerable to fire. (Under Roman law, arson was a worse crime than murder.) If a building caught on fire, his firemen would not deliver the service until the owner sold the property to Crassus at a fire-sale price, and then they did all they could to save it.

They'll have the juice to take the veto powers from POTUS just as soon as they ban and confiscate all guns.

It's never going to get done and it's not holding the government hostage...it's called checks and balances, unfortunately it only works if the one doing the checks isn't a spineless coward like Trump.

It's weird to me how little they care about the stealing private property thing.

Trump went on Twitter (his favorite way of communicating with America) and claimed that he hates the children being taken away. He then claimed that he had no choice in the matter, claiming that there's a law that forces him to abduct children and lock them in cages.

“The Democrats have to change their law," Trump insisted, "That's their law.”

The funny thing is, Trump seems to be the only person that's ever heard of this law. Nobody else out there has ever heard of a law that demands that infants and small children be abducted by the federal government, ripped from their families and locked in steel cages.

Is Trump on some really serious drugs?

The factual reality of this thread hit some members hard. :rose:

see? if they only voted him because they thought they'd pay less in taxes, they gonna be mad :D

they also need to look further than how much in tax they pay - they need to look at what their taxes do/don't do. one of the reasons people pay into the national health system in the UK without complaint by and large. they know it helps their society and everyone needs a doctor/hospital sooner or later!

That shit pisses me the fuck off because he released his tax plan while he was campaigning. Like I don't get pissed over a bunch of political shit but HE DID NOT LIE ABOUT THIS. HE DID EXACTLY WHAT HE TOLD Y'ALL HE WAS GONNA DO AND NOW YOU'RE MAD!

I, personally, went over the new tax plan with a bunch of people, because I still do freelance taxes, way back when he was running. Went over both of the most likely candidates tax plans. Then those bitches, who I FUCKING TOLD this was gonna happen and there wasn't a goddamn thing I could do about it, come at me like it's my fault. Wanting me to "work my number magic". And I'm over here like:

If people started doing that then the (D)'s would be fucked.

Yes, in the UK.

The USA isn't as collectivist or tax/oppression happy as you and the other USA haters on the left who are either ignoring or totally ignorant of US history, politics and culture.

Very consistent re: how these folks block out factual evidence.

You should up your fees with a "deplorable tax". :D

That's not very progressive.

Candi should give away all his labor/time to those less fortunate...that's real progress.
