Immigration is a non-problem

Does the stupid bastard know that there is NO difference between a Communist and a Socialist?

It's like Catholics and Baptists.

The most important difference is, socialists are not necessarily Marxists.

In 1917, the Socialist Party of America split over whether to support the Bolshevik revolution in Russia. The pro-Bolsheviks formed the Communist Party USA, which still exists, and always followed Moscow's lead while the USSR lasted. The Socialist Party was consistently anti-Soviet -- it split up in 1972, over whether to support or oppose the Vietnam War. Successor organizations include the Democratic Socialists of America (not really a party) and the Socialist Party USA.

Eugene V. Debs was absolutely a Socialist, but I am not convinced that he was a Marxist yet.

In a nutshell, my politics are George Orwell's. In the West he was a literary hero throughout the Cold War, but he identified all his life as a socialist (or Socialist -- he always capitalized the word).

There is NO practical difference between Socialism and Communism..............NONE. Every nation that has turned to either has turned to shit..................without exception.

If by socialism you mean social democracy, that works better than anything else, going by the actually existing social democracies, where things in general go better than they go here.

Democratic socialism (as distinct from both social democracy and authoritarian Communism) is the one thing that has never yet been tried, anywhere.

Unless you count Venezuela, whose democratic credentials are questionable.
