yes, they certainly do. First time one of mine was confronted by a kitten who was winding around his legs, I thought for sure he would step on it and crush it. He laid down and let that little kitten snuggle under his chin to keep warm. One of the most heart warming things I'd ever seen that huge alpha male do. Reinforced my love for malamutes.
