Fueled by the readers of mr scouries two mega hit "summer lovin" stories during the month of September four hundred and eighty-five (485) “recent activities” (favoriting the author, favoriting one of his stories, or commenting on one of his stories) were reported to him.

One hundred and seventy-seven (177) named him their “favorite” author during the month while twelve (12) “unfavorited” him for a net gain of one hundred and sixty-five (165).

Over the last six months (April-September 2011) 548 LITEROTICANS have named him their “favorite” author while 55 have “unfavorited” him (including that two faced babs woman) for a net gain of 493 for the period.

mr scouries hopes that he’ll have at least two new stories ready in October – he’s working like mad! And it’s this kind of response from the LITEROTICA readers that is his true inspiration.

Mister Scouries, what's your advice for joining the 1,000+ vote club?

Well finally an intelligent question. And clearly directed to the right person.

For those of you who don’t him, mister all is a new voice on the LITEROTICA scene. A twenty something year old Californian he’s one of a group of up and cuming authors who are starting to bring a more modern, twenty-first century feel to erotic literature.

First of all mister all I’d suggest you even aim higher! Go for a 2000+ story – that’s the new gold standard. One thousand is great of course but two is so much better.

Second I’d advise you not to listen to any of these old Ahers. They have no idea! All they do is talk about category, length, day of the week etc., etc. But what do they know – none of them have ever written a 1000+ story.

The first real king of vote accumulation on this site was rgjohn and his success immediately drew attacks from every corner of LIT’S forum world. But he had the last laugh…

He was followed by the likes of TryAnything, youbadboy, MasterHypnotist, BobbyT, ronde, nikki2021, and Wm_Sexspear. I’d advise you to study the works of these giants.

QUOTE acktion I completed one and found, not one, but TWO volunteer editors to look over it separately .. One found no errors. The other pointed out three, which I and the first had missed. Both were wildly supportive of the story. I corrected what was pointed out and submitted it.

Yet, it was rejected. And the only reason given was to check spelling and to search for help from the volunteer editors page.

This is my first submission to Literotica, and my first to anyone in over a decade. Surely, though, the reason link would have stated something else if there was some other reason. Not cited spelling and encouraged me to look for an editor. Right?

Well my good man you are not alone! Writers are continually reporting the same thing. It’s a problem that has existed for years. It’s frustrating – I know!

Here’s a suggestion I made over three years ago. It’s never been acted upon.

SCOURIES SUGGESTION #4 – Why not give a detailed reason when you Reject a Story

I’ve had about 13 out of the 58 or so stories I’ve submitted to Literotica rejected. Some have been rejected up to five times! I’m always surprised when one is rejected. I think I understand Literotica’s rules and while I may not agree with them I do try to write my stories to conform to them. When a story of mine is rejected I rush to try and find the problem and correct it. My stories have been rejected for the following reasons:

*Poor Grammar
*Underage Characters
*Snuff Scene
*Wrong Category
*Bestiality

But when one of the censors rejects a story they don’t provide very specific details – instead there is a line that asks something like ‘is there an underage character in this story?’ or ‘is this in the right category?’ or ‘does this story include bestiality?’ Shit, if you’ve read the story and decided it needs rejection why not be a little more specific?

Strangely at least nine of the thirteen stories I’ve had rejected were subsequently accepted without me making any changes at all! I just resubmit them with a note like ‘I looked for the underage character and don’t believe there are any of them in this story– I’d be happy to change something if you have some specific problem – please advise’. One of two things happens; one, usually the story is accepted without comment, or two, it’s rejected again but with again no highlighting of the exact problem.

I believe it would save me time and worry, as well as save your censors time, if they were quite specific when they reject a story. Something like, ‘Sally is only 16 years old when she has sex with Arthur in the middle of page two in your story – this is unacceptable and must be changed,’ or ‘it is not okay for Sally to have vaginal/penile intercourse with the dolphin in the second paragraph’.

I’ll then be able to immediately address the problem instead of slogging through ten thousand words trying to figure out what I’ve done wrong.

So please, for all of our sakes, talk to your censors and get them to be a bit more specific in future.
