Pandemonium challenge support thread

Had to pull my entry from queue and resubmit due to a couple of errors I caught. That will be a slight delay in mine going up for that reason 🤣

My story has been stuck in Pending for nearly three days, which making me worry that I might have run afoul of the "no snuff" rule. So, inspired by the "intentionally unlikeable character" thread, I'm writing a new story about the most unpleasant character I can imagine.

I really hope that’s not what’s slowing mine down. The succubus in mine threatens to drain the MC dry and leave the desiccated husk for room service, but he lives 🤣

Unsure if this is relevant, but mine is also stuck in pending for about three days so far. There's definitely no snuff in there, but now I am questioning every part of it trying to see if anything could be considered to have broken a rule.

Are we sure there's not a 'no sex with demons' rule somewhere?

My MC has fairly bloody sex with a demonic demigod, and recalls some good times while alive where she murders her brand new husband during the Initiation of a sex act after she catches him assaulting a maid. Like, she speaks fondly of her "first time" experiencing something new (murder) as if it's a sexual experience. I wasn't 100% on whether I was walking the snuff line with that. But mine also went into erotic horror where there's a little more leeway with sex+violence. I think because the sex act didn't actually start before she slit his femoral artery, her excitement at the events didn't carry over into snuff territory.

She also discusses killing women in her bathtub after getting them off because they "tasted" better in death post orgasm. I never explained what she meant by that, but there is an implication that the dead body wasn't taken away right away. She later talks about wondering if the smell of death that lingered around the bath also lingered on her own skin after bathing in their blood. (Again, never mentioned the body being taken away first, the implication is definitely that she bathed with the dead body and the body was left in the tub long enough to develop that "death" smell that her maids struggled to clean away.)

Mine was approved in like 12 hours but it was before the challenge began and it's quite short at 4k words.

Laurel might be taking a little longer to approve now as some entries may be longer and those may be getting a more thorough examination, particularly if they are going outside of erotic horror.

Ironically, I chose SF&F over EH because I wasn't sure the horror element was strong enough.

I have four chapters of a new series in pending since 20th Aug. It's really killing my motivation to participate this contest now.

👹👿👹👿👹👿👹 Just hit "submit" on my swords-and-sorcery demonic possession Pandemonium 2024 entry... hopefully I will join you all in wearing The Mark Of The Beast in a few days when/if it is deemed appropriate by the powers below...😉

Checked my word count today. I think it's going to be 10k? sitting around 6.7k now, but still not finished.

I've written so sporadically, I don't have a good feel for how long things things take to write.
