Godannar!
神魂合体ゴーダンナー!!
godannar1.jpg

Opening Song : Season 1: Akira Kushida
Track - Shinkon Gattai Godannar

Season 2: Shinkon Gattai Godannar
Engage
by Mitsuko Horie and Ichiro Mizuki

Ending Song: Not Avail- sorry -_-"

Number of Episodes: Between 2 seasons- 26

Genre:Comedy, Mecha, Fanservice
Rating:7.5

Overview:
Godannar is a quirky, fanservice-like anime that I found while I was working one day. The story pretty much goes like this- In the year 2042, alien threats known as the Mimetic beasts invade earth.

During a final battle against the Mimetic beasts, Goh Saruwatari defeats the alien "boss" and saves his future wife, Anna Aoi, with his robot called Godannar.

Now, on their wedding ceremony, the Mimetic beasts emerge after five years of tranquility. Goh and Godannar are called to action, forcing Goh to leave Anna at the altar.

As Goh struggles in his battle against the Mimetic beast, Anna stumbles upon a sealed robot known as Neo Okusaer. She is able to activate and pilot the Neo Okusaer to save her "husband" by merging it with Godannar to activate the Godannar's Twin Drive. (Sound familiar? *Cough Power Rangers Cough*)

During the course of the series, it is discovered that humanity is threatened by a virus which is spread by the Mimetic beasts. All of humanity is infected, but the virus affects the Godannar pilots most severely, since they come into close contact with the Mimetic beasts on a regular basis. The virus has the effect of transforming human males into Mimetic beasts; females are somehow immune, unless they naturally generate large amounts of male hormones. The virus is stimulated by human hormones, especially those released in great quantities during combat.

Can Anna and Goh stop this world wide threat? Oh yeah, and they have help from surrounding countries as well :p

The downside:

This is definately a male-oriented anime and it's full of cheese. So much cheese! If you hate weak story-lines and love scantily-dressed female pilots, then Godannar will be right up your alley!

I loved this anime, it rocked and the boobs rocked too.

I think I honestly only watched it for the boobs lol.

Along with my boyfriend.
And my (ex) room mate ( my bf's best friend)

Oh jeez.

My boyfriend's a fan of Shizuru's ass... and he isn't an ass man!

Allison and Lillia

Episodes: 26
Genre: Historical fiction
Opening

You know, sometimes the greatest discoveries come from random choices. I had just finished watching the OVA of Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, along with it's spinoff Akane Maniax and was wondering what to watch next. I was looking through the list of Anime titles on the site I've been visiting for Anime when the title "Allison and Lillia" jumped out at me. I thought, 'what an unusual title for an Anime,' and decided to check it out. I mean, why not? I wasn't looking to watch anything at the time, and if it sucked I could always move on to something else. So I read the description, and it didn't seem like something I'd want to watch, but I made the decision to try it out anyway. Boy am I glad I did.

The story is split into two parts, the first following the path of Allison and her childhood friend Wil. In the beginning, they live in a country known as Roxche, which has been at war with its' neighbor Sous Beil for hundreds of years. They learn of a secret "treasure" that could end the war forever, and soon after they set out to find it.

The second half of the series is set about 18 years after the events in the first half, and now focuses on Allison's daughter, Lillia. While her mother would actively seek out adventure, adventure seems to seek out Lillia, along with her childhood friend Treize, who is hiding a rather significant secret...

This is one of those Animes that you could very easily miss out on, and it would be a very sad thing indeed. I've watched a lot of Anime in the last few months, and nothing has impressed me quite as much as this series did. It's extremely well written, engaging, and well animated. A lot of times I tend to think Animes are too long, or have episodes that seem completely unnecessary. The opposite is true of this Anime, and I was sad to see it end. I truly wish there had been more episodes. You should definitely check this out.

Black Cat
ブラックキャット

Opening Song : DAIA no Hana by Yoriko

Ending Song: Namidaboshi by PUPPYPET

2nd Ending song: Kutsuzure
Blisters by Ryouji Matsuda

Number of Episodes: 23 (24 min. per episode)

Genre:
Action/Adventure, Comedy
Rating: 7.5

Overview:
Black Cat reflects around the main character, Train Heartnet; a cold, quiet gunman also known as "Black Cat". Black Cat works for an assasin group known as "Chronos"- a mysterious group who seem to be as cold hearted and unforgiving as Black Cat himself. However; his life changes one day when he meets a beautiful girl named Saya who changes his life forever. Add a crazy girl who is known as a powerful weapon, a guy who can see 5 minutes ahead in the future and a few mild, but important characters here and there, and you have a action-packed comedy that will keep you glued (somewhat) to your television screen.

The downside:
Although the series was good, it lacked a few things that i enjoy- style and originality. It much reminded me of Darker than Black- another series I have seen and enjoyed. It wasn't bad and it was a little short. I still reccomend seeing it. But don't be strayed aside from the semi-bad animation : D

Opening Song :Cautionary Warning by Pinky Pinky/ John Sykes

Ending Song: Unknown info. But found song : )

Number of Episodes: 13
Genre: Dramatic Comedy, Action, Sci-fi
Rating: 4.0

Overview:
I stumbled across Black Heaven a little while ago when my boyfriend showed me this AMV. So basing on what I saw; I got curious and much to my amazement, I found out that my work carried it! So off i went with the series in my hand, and watched it. What I found out was that it had nothing to do with Tab, Mountain Dew or Fritos (jokes!), but instead it began and ended with a story about a salary man named Oji Tanaka and how he wishes he could fulfil his dream once more. You see, Tanaka used to belong to a famous rockband called Black Heaven 10 years ago, but unfortunately had to disband once they had to get jobs, take care of their family etc. etc.
However, Tanaka is found by a beautiful space alien named Layla who gives him his dream back of playing as a rock musician. But every dream comes with a price. In exchange of playing his old, famous rock tunes, he has to rock out hard enough to defeat evil space aliens who are in war with Layla's kind. Sounds simple enough? It isn't when your wife doesn't approve and is embarrassed of you and your son doesn't even know you. Add a couple of ditzy space alien hotties, a mad scientist, and a few co-workers who don't give a damn about you and you got a series that goes beyond the everyday adventures of being a salaryman.
11077.jpg

The downside:
The series was a little weird from the start. The whole time you root for Tanaka to reunite his band, leave his bitch of a wife etc, etc, but instead you get 13 episodes of a whiny man wishing he was what he was 10 years ago. The alien girls get annoying and are extremely air-headed, and the story doesn't really go anywhere. But if you like hard rock and quirky sci-fi animes, it's pretty unique.

Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-chan

Opening Theme Song:Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan by Saeko Chiba

2nd Season OP Theme: Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan by Saeko Chiba

Ending Theme Song: Survive by Eriko Imai

2nd Season Ending Theme: Bokusatsu ondo de Dokuro-chan by Saeko Chiba

Episodes: ( Between 2 seasons- 12)

Genre: Comedy, Gore, Ecchi themes & Loli

Rating: 3.5

OvErViEw: Omg. When I first found this series, it was hidden within the B section of the anime shelf, neatly tucked away with the case's spine to me. I saw the name "Bokusatsu" and had to take a double look. So taking the cover in my hands I saw a cute lil' angel with a huge ass bat with spikes on it and a boy in the background who looked like he was going to shit his pants in fear. So turning over the case I begin to read that this poor boy had every right to fear what was coming to him. So basically this anime's is about the future of one highschool student named Kusakabe Sakura and how he plans to will offend God by inventing immortality so that women will stop aging after they turn twelve. ( Yeah, yeah.. weird..)

Enter Dokuro-chan . An angel from the future sent to kill him. However, Dokuro-chan thinks he can be spared, so her idea is to constantly occupy Sakura so that he will never be able to invent the technology. However; sometimes Dokuro gets a little..err..strange and ends up killing him with her spiked bat. But with the words "Pi-piru-piru-piru-pi-piru-pi!" Sakura gets revived. Each and every blood-soaking time.

And yes. This goes on for two seasons.

DoWnSiDe:

As funny it is to see poor Sakura-san get killed over and over again. This anime lacks a sensible plot. There's only so many episodes someone can watch before going crazy! Oh and the "Pi-piru-piru-piru-pi-piru-pi!" Gets annoying after the 900th time! ( not joking either). But it's fun in it's own way :D And c'mon. Would you want to grow up to be the inventor of a Loli-machine?? *rolls eyes*

Episodes: First Season 13, Second Season; also 13

Genre: Gore, Drama, Sattire, Ecchi (contains a rape scene and a few nudity shots).

Rating: 6.5-7.0

OvErViEw:

I was very skeptical at first with the first episode of Gantz. Normally; a gore-inspired anime takes a few moments before throwing you to the wolves. With Gantz; you've already been thrown without even realizing it until your eyes finally blink to comprehend that what your seeing really is a head decapitated, followed by some pillowy breasts. I'm not kidding- you see that in the first episode. So, the story is about a 10th grader named Kei Kurono who after picking up his favorite porn mag, goes down to the subway station; seeing his old childhood friend Masaru Katou awaiting for a train as well. The two talk and reminisce in old times, suddenly being interrupted when a drunken homeless man decides to fall on the tracks. Kei at first refuses to go down and help him, but Masaru begs, eventually convincing Kei to help. The two go down and surprise, surprise, the two get hit and die.

However; instead of that being the end, the two wake up to find themselves in a empty apartment with a big, black ball. A few other people suddenly arrive, being "scanned into" the apartment. Suddenly the ball lights up, mocks them all and basically says that they are under it's control. As confusing as this may already sound; it gets weirder. The ball pulls up a profile of this green-onion human thing and tells everyone in the room to kill it. The ball opens itself revealing an impressive arsenal collection and these black-latex plug suits. As soon as everyone grabs the attire, the ball transports them to a random alleyway in Tokyo, where they find the onion-boy and go on a personal vendetta to kill him. The team quickly realizes that this assignment is a game, and the only way to win is to survive.

I think its awesome that you created this thread, I am very excited, I've been looking for more Anime series to watch, and perhaps this is late but Ayakashi Bakeneko is on youtube, in the original Japanese.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2ZCBgsi1S0
There seem to be at least 3 episodes in Bakeneko

I loved the entire Ayakashi series, it was astounding, am for some reason utterly addicted to the story of Iwa and Iemon.

For the Ayakashi series, there's 4 volumes, And if I can remember correctly, each has 3 or 4 episodes.

I own the first three and have see the Mononoke series as well. Each is good and I highly recommend. I also reviewed the series at the very beginning of this thread.:D ( If I remember correctly, it was the 2nd review I wrote:)

It depends on the country.

In Chinese it's prounounced " Man- GWAH"

Japanese, Man-GAH

Korean- Man-HWA ( WAH)

Reiha is pronounced " Ray- Ha".

Hope that helps. :heart::cattail::kiss:
