Opening Song:
N/A but, here's a small sample for you! (from OVA's 1 and 2)

Ending Song :ending 1
Ending 2

Number of Episodes:3 (disc 1), 2 (disc 2) (on 2 DVD's)

Genre: Hentai, Drama

Rating: 5.0

Overview:

OVA 1 &2:

The story revolves around the mother, Yukie Kitazawa, and her two adopted daughters, Rumi and Tomoko. Yukie has a car accident while her husband is away on a business trip, and is forced to repay the other party, a young man named Taketo Nogawa, by sexual means. Taketo and his father, a powerful and corrupt business owner, blackmail and violate Yukie, Rumi and Tomoko.

But Yukie's husband has been impotent for some time (due to his suppressed sexual attraction to Tomoko), and Yukie cannot help but welcome the sexual attention Taketo shows her. However, Taketo is shown to be an impulsive, frustrated young man prone to occasional outbursts.

Yumi, who works at Taketo's father's company, also joins in the emotional mess. About 90% of the time, she appears to be a loyal servant of the company and its interests, such as collecting the money owed by Yukie.

Blossoming:

Katori is attracted to a shifty, new student at her University named Koshiro. She remembers his face from when he saved her younger sister from a band of rapists in the past. However, rumors abound that Koshiro is sleeping with his teachers, and has some kind of hidden agenda against the school and her mother. When Koshiro’s plan goes into motion, Katori, her sister, and her mother will all be in on the action.
047-3-Immoral-Sisters-2.jpg

Downside:

Boring. Very, Very boring. Also; maybe it's just me, but both Tomoko and Rumi look younger than high-school students.....

Alucard_Hurt_by_TotemoOmoshiroi.jpg

Opening Song:"Logos Naki World" ("A World Without Logos") by Yasushi Ishii

Ending Song :
"Shine" by Mr. Big

Number of Episodes:
13 ( on 4 DVD's- boxset released)

Genre: Horror, Supernatural, Suspense, Light Comedy

Rating: 9.5

Overview:
One of my favorite anime's to date, Hellsing brings you into the world of zombies, vampires and killer soundtracks. Oh..and blood. Lots and lots of blood.
The story begins with Alucard (aka Arucard)- our kick ass, red trench-coat, gun toting vampire who is bloodthirsty as hell. Well, without giving things away...
Alucard is out one evening, kicking ass to some flesh-eating zombies led by a vampire *gasp* priest, when he ends up saving a police girl's life.. a ditzy blonde named Seras Victoria.
Anyway, Seras (being blond and not very smart) ends up getting in the way between the priest and Alucard, making the very difficult decision.
"Should I die or not?"
Well, she makes an O.K choice...make the damn priest die, and herself. Only to be saved by Alucard..and turned into a vampire herself!
Now here's the kicker. Alucard, who by all means is friggen Dracula! but there's a catch..
He's bound by a master.. A female "ice queen" by the name of Sir Integra (Integral) W. Hellsing. Founder of the Hellsing corp- a special division that kills "creatures of the night". I don't want to give away why Alucard is this woman's bitch, but it explains it. Along with the crazy Vatican's and their own "Alucard".
Anyway's watch it!!!!!
Hellsing_-_Arucard_Color.jpg

The downside:
Before they released Hellsing Ultimate ( I'll do a review on it soon), Hellsing was missing HUGE chunks out of the original manga. They also really "simplified" Seras as well, and really made Integra into a huge, snobby bitch. Anyways, WATCH IT!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7o7su41Cdko A good AMV of what to epect from this series

Good - Shigurui is just the thing for those who are fans of samurai anime, It similar to Kenshin and basilisk series but more realistic and violent.

Bad- My only regret was that the series was too short lived only 13 episodes.

I saw the first two episodes of this and loved it.

Hey, what's the anime that's kind of like Great Teacher Onizuka except a lot more random.

Death Note
デスノート,

L_x_Light_by_kipferl.jpg

Opening Song:
"Death Note" by Nightmare

OP2: What up People
by zawa...zawa...za...zawa...zawa
**I prefer this one**

Ending Song :
"the WORLD/ Alumnia ~" / Nightmare

2nd ending:
"Coda~Death Note"

Number of Episodes:
37 (On 6 discs- only 5 have been released so far)

Genre: Horror, Thriller, Suspense, Supernatural

Rating: 10

Overview:

I was at first, skeptical about Death Note considering I have an ongoing hatred towards Shonen Jump (makers of Naruto, and other annoying animes). But I got suckered into watching it from my boyfriend raving about the Manga's, so I decided "why not?".
The series centers around a high school student named Light Yagami who discovers a black notebook (the Deathnote) that allows him to kill anyone by writing the victim's name and picturing his or her face. The plot follows his attempt to create and lead a world cleansed of evil using the book, and the complex conflict between himself and his antagonists. Light isn't just your average student either, he's very..no, extremely intelligent, which I guess you can say, makes him an excellent candidate to holding the Deathnote, which was dropped by a bored Shinigami god. (think almost a grim reaper).

So Light starts writing in the Deathnote, soon realizing that infact, this is the real thing. So, trying to do some right; Light ends up killing local and Japanese-wide criminals, basically giving them all heart attacks. But his secrecy isn't for long as the Japanese police start searching for Light, who has called himself "Kira". This also attracts the attention of the world's best detective, L. L wants nothing more than to bring down "Kira", but how?
contrast_style_by_reammara.jpg

The downside:
None. Well other than it was released under Shonen Jump, but that's my personal opinion on that. DeathNote is refreshing, and keeps you on your toes. A very good story that keeps you wanting to learn more. But I can do with the many, many Misa Misa's that I see everywhere -_-" ( you'll figure out who Misa Misa is).

Also, enough with the Deviant Art Light/L Yaoi!!!!!

SHUFFLE!
(JA not avail)

shuffle_wallpaper_by_halo2fast.jpg

Opening Song: "You" by Yuria

Ending Song : "Innocence" by Miyuki Hashimoto

2nd ending:Same song, alternative animation!

Number of Episodes: 24 ( on 6 discs) **Season 1**

Genre:
Romance, Drama, Fanservice

Rating: 7.5

Overview:
Shuffle! was first introduced as a soft-core Hentai game-turned anime. The story revolves around a high school boy named Rin Tsuchimi and his difficult decision to choose 1 girl (out of 5 possible candidates!) to marry. Each girl is different from each other, each having their own unique past. As the anime progresses, the stories become more bizzare as does the jealously and rage of each girl.

Which girl will Rin choose?

Memories_2___Shuffle_by_Acsela_chan.jpg

The downside:
For a H-game, it's pretty mild with only Boobs really being shown throughout the whole anime. The story is a little weak at first, and ends off with fans wanting to know what happens next ( there's a 2nd season yet to be released in North America or Europe).

Overview:
Now, this is an anime that I haven't fully watched because I can't find the rest which sucks! But I did have the chance to watch the first 4 episodes at animethon! So I had to rely on Wiki for help on this one (sorry guys!!)
Spice and Wolf is about the story of a peddler named Craft Lawrence and a little 600-year old wolf named Horo and their adventures in finding Horo's homeland of Yoitsu. However, Horo is known as a "pagan god" (she isn't) and is hated by many churches.

The downside:
I can't find the anime anywhere, so sorry guys- can't say if it ends good or bad, but from what I have seen- I like it, and so does Chronie. It's cute. Horo can be a little annoying at times. But hey! It's cute =^-^=

My daughter is a huge Death Note fan ... I ended up spending a reasonably high amount of money on her birthday just to order something from Singapore that I couldn't find in the U.S.

As for me, well, I would point out that maybe, just maybe, apples aren't all THAT great.

I loved this series it's very good. Also the anime version of this is terrible, It does not live up to the series at all.

Ending Song: "Himitsu Dolls" by Mai Nakahara and Ai Shimizu

2nd Ending Song: "Ichigo Tsumi Monogatari" by Mai Nakahara and Ai Shimizu

Number of Episodes: 26 (4 DVD's have been released)

Genre: Romance, Yuri, Drama

Rating: 4.0

Overview:
Strawberry Panic..jeez.. Well first off, I had no idea that this was a Yuri anime! (lesbian oriented), but I watched it, and well..it's "not bad". The story is about a bunch of adolescent girls in a all-girls academy. There's 3 different "classes", the St. Miator's Girls' Academy, St. Spica's Girls' Institute, and St. Lulim's Girls' School. Each "class" is different and have different "strengths." But neve rmind that. It's the beginning of a new school year and Nagisa Aoi (main character) suddenly arrives. Now everyone at the schools are interested in Nagisa due to the fact that she's in her 4th year of schooling. Feeling awkward, Nagisa doesn't realize that she's unintentionally the most popular (and talked about) girl in school.

Nagisa comes across an older student by the name of Shizuma Hanazono who is by our way of thinking- the ultimate student. Shizuma is known as simply "Etoile", the highest name you can get in all of classes. Nagisa is stunned by Shizuma's beauty and becomes embarrassed that she has been kissed on the forehead. As the story progresses, more characters come into play, and the "relationship" between Nagisa and Shizuma becomes more interesting.

Forbidden_Love_by_SailorStac.jpg

The downside:

This anime has put me to sleep so many times that I can't even count on my fingers and toes. The animation is breath-taking, but I rather watch this on YouTube or get it for free, rather than buying it.

Loveless

Ritsuka_and_Soubi_by_BroknHeart123.jpg

Opening Song :Yui Horie-Tsuki no Kaasu (The Moon's Curse)

Ending Song: Michiyuki- Kaori Hikita.

Number of Episodes: 12

Genre: Romance, Yaoi, Drama, Fantasy

Rating: 4.5

Overview:

Quite possibly the only "okay" catboy anime out there, Loveless is simply about a "catboy" named Ritsuka who has a grudge..and a ton of questions he wants answered. On his first day of school, he meets a mysterious man (who appears to be in college, Ritsuka on the other hand is in the 6th grade...don't ask). Anyway, the mysterious man identifies himself a friend of Ritsuka's deceased brother, Seimei.

The two pair up and try to figure out Seimei's murder, all while trying to figure out who keeps sending people out to destroy them both.

Angry_Ritsuka_by_carmade.jpg

The downside:

There's so many gay innuendos and questionable scenes that make you feel "dirty". Like come on...a 19 year old loving a 12 year old? *cringe*
Plus the anime is short. Hated the ending. The manga is much better.

Azumanga Daioh!

AzuMangaDaioh!
azumanga.jpg

Opening Song : "Fancy Hearing Cake" By Aki Hata

Ending Song: Raspberry Heaven by Oranges & Lemons

Number of Episodes: 26

Genre:Comedy
Rating: 10

Overview:

Azumanga Daioh is about the lives of 7 high school girls and 2 teachers, and their day-to-day adventures. The main synopsis focus's around a 10-year prodigy named Chiyo who enters her first year of high school. Each girl is different from each other which makes some interesting combination's when they are together!! Even the teachers are independant in their own special ways!

1193971880255.png

The downside:

This anime is for people with a quirky sense of humour. It's not suppose to make any sense. So looking for a plot is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Night Wizard
1193531445.jpg

Episodes: 13
Genre: Fantasy, Adventure
Opening
Ending

The story in this Anime revolves around a small group of heroes that work for a larger group designed to protect the world. These group members are known as "wizards." It is their job to protect the world from evil creatures known as "emulators" that come from another dimension known as the Internal World. When the red moon appears, and emulator can't be far behind. Most mythical beasts of lore are in fact emulators, and in recent years emulator activities have risen. And so Anzelotte, the leader of the wizards devises a plan to gather the Seven Jewels of Virtue in order to open a gate into the Internal world so that the wizards can attack the emulator force and the demon lords who control them at the source.

At the beginning of the series we meet Elis Shiho, a cheerful and polite young girl who is more than what she seems. We soon learn that she is in fact able to sense and collect the Seven Jewels thanks to her special bracelet, and she is suddenly thrust into the conflict between the wizards and emulators. But just who is she?

Joining her are Renji Hiiragi, a reckless demon sword wielder; Kureha Akabane, a local shrine girl and Renji's childhood friend; and Akari Himuro, who shows little to no emotion but is a devoted companion. Together they collect the Seven Jewels of Virtue and confront any opponent who stands in their way. During their journey they also meet a mysterious young man known only a Kirihito. But who is he, and what is his true purpose? All is revealed as Night Wizard plays out.

Ok, so it's not the most original premise out there. An innocent young girl suddenly finds out that she is the key to the fate of the world and her new friends must now protect her. It's a tried and true formula for a lot of anime series. However, that alone does not make a good series. In fact many series that follow this promise fall flat. Night Wizard is not one of those series. I loved it from beginning to end! There's a great balance of action and plot development throughtout the series. There's one or two episodes where they focus on plot development, but every anime series has those types of episodes and fortunately the ones in this series are not boring as some of them tend to be.

It's only 13 episodes, but to be honest I thought that was perfect for this series. It cuts back on a lot of the filler content that plague a lot of anime series and presents a solid story arc from beginning to end. There was never a moment where I wished an episode would hurry up and end so I could get to the next in the hopes that there would be more action and less blah.

Definitely recommended!

This Ugly Yet Beautiful World
konotop.jpg

Episodes: 12
Genre: Fantasy, Sci-fi
Opening
Ending

So, the story revolves around four main characters (I'm going to stick with the Japanese names because frankly the English ones are awful). Takeru Mizushima is a high school student working part time as a motorcycle courier. His closest friend is Ryo Ninomiya, their bond strengthened by the fact that they were both abandoned by their parents. This tragic event that they both share actually manifest itself in their psyche's in remarkably different ways. Takeru has a hard time trusting people, and is often distant and aloof. Ryo on the other hand a is a gentle and kind person, who takes care of his little sister, who believes their parents died in an accident. Both of their lives will take a drastic turn in this series.

Takeru is making a late delivery one day alongside Ryo when a light fills the sky and enters a nearby forest. Takeru and Ryo go to investigate, and are surprised to find a beautiful young girl floating by a tree. Takeru names her Hikari and they connect immediately. Just a few moments later, a hideous monster attacks them, seemingly after Hikari. Takeru vows to protect her at all costs, and at some point in the confrontation a hidden power awakens in him, transforming him into a demon and sending him into a rage that allows him to slaughter the powerful monster attacking them.

A short time later, Ryo encounters a mysterious girl himself in the form of Akari. Like the previous two, Ryo and Akari are quick to connect with each other, and Ryo even brings her home, accepting Akari into his family. With both girls seemingly unaware of life in the world, the boys and their circle of friends set out to teach the girls about life and the world around them. Hikari and Akari soon meet, and it is quite apparent that there is a connection between the two. They consider themselves to be sisters, and their bond grows over time. But just what is the connection between the two?

As the girls learn about their life, Takeru also learns how to deal with the changes in him. Monsters continue to attack Hikari, and Takeru's demonic power continues to manifest itself. But why is all this happening, and why are these monsters targeting Hikari specifically? What secret do Hikari and Akari hold, and what will it mean for the sake of the Earth? Find out in This Ugly Yet Beautiful World.

Ok...where do I begin. First of all, this Anime is bizarre. It's one of those series that is very confusing, but brings it all together at the end and then you're like, oh so that's why that happened. There's also a lot of nudity. I don't necessarily have a problem with that, except that there were instances where it felt unnecessary. Speaking of unnecessary, a lot of the episodes felt very out of place and unneeded. Like they could have told the story in half the time that they did. It made many of the episodes feel much longer than they actually were. In a series with only 12 episodes, this was a terrible blow. A lot of the plot exposition was very repetitive as well. There were some great episodes with a lot of action, but the filler material kinda negated that. I will say though that the finale was well worth the wait.

All in all this series was okay, but there's much better out there.

Opening Song : Season 1: Akira Kushida
Track - Shinkon Gattai Godannar

Season 2: Shinkon Gattai Godannar
Engage
by Mitsuko Horie and Ichiro Mizuki

Ending Song: Not Avail- sorry -_-"

Number of Episodes: Between 2 seasons- 26

Genre:Comedy, Mecha, Fanservice
Rating:7.5

Overview:
Godannar is a quirky, fanservice-like anime that I found while I was working one day. The story pretty much goes like this- In the year 2042, alien threats known as the Mimetic beasts invade earth.

During a final battle against the Mimetic beasts, Goh Saruwatari defeats the alien "boss" and saves his future wife, Anna Aoi, with his robot called Godannar.

Now, on their wedding ceremony, the Mimetic beasts emerge after five years of tranquility. Goh and Godannar are called to action, forcing Goh to leave Anna at the altar.

As Goh struggles in his battle against the Mimetic beast, Anna stumbles upon a sealed robot known as Neo Okusaer. She is able to activate and pilot the Neo Okusaer to save her "husband" by merging it with Godannar to activate the Godannar's Twin Drive. (Sound familiar? *Cough Power Rangers Cough*)

During the course of the series, it is discovered that humanity is threatened by a virus which is spread by the Mimetic beasts. All of humanity is infected, but the virus affects the Godannar pilots most severely, since they come into close contact with the Mimetic beasts on a regular basis. The virus has the effect of transforming human males into Mimetic beasts; females are somehow immune, unless they naturally generate large amounts of male hormones. The virus is stimulated by human hormones, especially those released in great quantities during combat.

Can Anna and Goh stop this world wide threat? Oh yeah, and they have help from surrounding countries as well :p

cbef6ebe35b61358468132a13def2ef7.gif

The downside:

This is definately a male-oriented anime and it's full of cheese. So much cheese! If you hate weak story-lines and love scantily-dressed female pilots, then Godannar will be right up your alley!
