i cannot tell if this is a bad or good review

ah that is the joy of MET  it could be taken either way -- I would take it as good, might as well :)

damn you guys are smokin' hot red black and blue groove love coming here to read the best of you peace out

Thank you, vampiredust for mentioning the poem APPLES GROW IN NEW HAMPSHIRE in the New Poems Review thread. ~ As was mentioned in comment, the spacing does make it read almost like separate poems. It is not meant to have more than single line stanza break blank lines. I don’t know what went wrong with the coding. :(

Tzara commented:
The line "Wild they ripen, tame and feral" caught me up a bit, though. I know (well, think) you mean "wild" to refer to how the fruit is growing and "tame" and "feral" to contrast domesticated and native strains, but for me the line reads like both redundancy and oxymoron. I guess I'd say I think it over clever, given the "simple" style of the rest of the poem.

In the penultimate line, "breathe" is misspelled.

Very nice read.
I sent him a reply, but my computer crashed when I hit "send". ~ What I said, in case he did not get the message, was that I could not believe that I had that "wrong word" and he is the only person to ever spot it (Kudos for your editorial eye), and that my meaning when I wrote this about 30 years ago, for "wild", "tame", and "feral" was that "wild" apples are those growing from seed, deep in the woods. "Tame" are those orchard or yard grown, and "feral" are those that were planted by man, but have since been abandoned to the whims of nature. ~ Kind of like the house cats the summer people bring with them and then "forget" when their vacation is over and they go back to the city. ~ I will have to think about possibly changing some punctuation in that line.

It is fascinating that a porn site can have poets/writers of such discernment.

Thanks to all who commented, voted, or at least read!

I also submitted a poem entitled “Sundowner” at the same time, but it is still pending. I hope its spacing is not screwed up too!

Both poems were in response to poetry challenges. The threads for which I missed. I have since read the apple thread, but I still have not found the “Sundowner” thread.

yourlittledominatrix...
I don't believe too many people mention bad poetry on this thread <grin I enjoyed the poem and the way it was relayed. (~_*)

thanks anna <grinin'

The Mystery Valiant, i appreciate your straight up critique - i might not agree with some of it, but you have given me things to think about and that's always a good thing.

there is nothing like going away for a few days and coming back to catch up reading this thread.

Thanks to Mr. Dust and TRM for mentioning my stir fry poem on the review thread, and thanks as well to you commentees (commentors? commendationalists? commendatores?) who commented. :)

If someone ever wonders where poets come up with their metaphors, this is where this poem started.

Did you cut and paste HTML text into the form? I've found that if your text has embedded <br /> tags, they end up being duplicated inside the poem. Apparently whatever formatting software Lit uses doesn't scan to see if any are there in the first place.

"Sundowner" is a variety of apple. These were responses to the apple thread.

I did get your response, by the way. Thanks. :)

RhymeFairy has a couple pieces out today. First up is He ... Touched Me, a rather nice piece. But she really does a good job with Silk Slip Of Nothing.

But don't stop there — give the others a read and share with us your thoughts. It's not just the rain that makes reading today's submissions such a delight.

Thanks Leon for the loverly mention today.
Been a while for me and I am plum tickled ~!!! :D

Also Thanks going out to the readers and commentators.
I am here to learn. I appreciate any comments or suggestions ~

Yeah, yeah. Some days don't work out, OK?
That's all right, your Periodic Table poems are still clever.
